This is a IUPA (International Union of Police Associations) union program. It is just a way of trying to convert the SSO from PBA to IUPA.

I'm open to listening to IUPA. What has the PBA done for us that BB didn't give us???

We're already established with PBA. It would be stupid to try and switch because it would take a vote and nobody is going to vote to switch. Well, maybe one person would. Anyways, a lot of people blame Florida's unions for being weak, but it's not the unions fault. A union only has as much power as the state legislature gives it --- and the Florida legislature doesn't give Florida's unions a lot of power. That's why we're low paid. Go ahead and listen to the IUPA speel. IUPA is very good, but I don't want to switch mid-stream for something that won't be any better than PBA. Florida unions are weak, so don't blame the PBA. Ask the legislature to give us more bargaining power.
