What has happened to this place. It sucks royally, we all know that. City commission is totally against all of us. They have managed to convince the citizens that we are all corrupt. A civilian review board. Paying an old wrinkled up man 60k a year for 4 meeting, so, 15 thousand dollars per meeting, because he claimed to be an "expert" on corruption. Losing benefits, officers, health insurance sucks and costs more, this list could go on forever.

But the biggest problem is now internal. Our brass has turned on us. Even worse than when we had Abbott. The LTs, and Captains have made it their goal to seek out officers to get in trouble for anything they can dream up. We have review boards for a reason. The review boards reach unanimous decisions, only to be told by the LT that they are all wrong, and have it overturned. So, several officers get letters for doing their job. If I was on a review board I would quit. Why be on a board, do the work and put in the time, only to be told by a LT that we dont know what we are doing.

Our Captain, the same Captain who gets so drunk when he goes out he can barely stand, but manages to drive himself home. The same captain who sat In the back seat of a SSO car, and was handcuffed and stuffed and on his way to the jail, before the Deputy was pursueded to release him, is on a mission to screw us when he can. Hes changing G.O.s just so he can punish you and me. How can the brass be turning on us to. This is great. Congrats to the recently promoted, you have joined the untouchables, and will slowly be brainwashed to turn on us to.

So, yeah, lets come together everyone.

First of all we cannot, nor will we ever, be able to control what the City wishes to impose on the Department. The only thing that worrying about thier political adgenda will do is cause ill will within the walls of SPD. If the City wants to spend 60 grand on an anti-corruption specialist, more power to them. The only thing that he will find is dust in his new office. We should be wishing him well in his pointless new position, addressing a problem that doesn't exist will be quite a downer for him. As far as the Captain being hooked, that is old news, nothing happened when it was fresh and nothing will happen with it now. Just let it die, we have enough fresh problems to deal with. One officer fired for being implicated in an armed home invasion, and one for signing up to be a Freeman, Strawman, or whatever the hell he did. We are our own worst enemy. Just go out handle your calls and be safe, watch out for each other on the road and if you see another officer screwing up either teach him the right way, or at least make sure they don't continue down the path that will lead us all back into the HT's gossip pages.

It doesn't help the credibility of the rank and file when a career detective is tossed out for belonging to a subversive organization.

Your so-called career detective was not tossed for belonging to a subversive group, although I am sure that our policies state somewhere that officers cannot (all PD's have something to that effect). He was let go because he did not tell the truth. He was caught not being honest. Simple as that. His lack of judgement got him in the hot water, but his untruthfulness is what boiled it over. What do you expect the Chief to do?? Also do not forget, per FSS, certain offenses have to be reported
to CJSTC....and lying or dishonesty is one of them. Trust me, he would have been de-certified as soon as they finished reading his file. It was going to happen one way or another.

Who? What organization?

Detective Mynd Yeronbznes, a relatively new Detective. It is rumored that he joined the United Front Against Midget Proliferation. A nasty anti short person's group responsible for the firing of Captain Laracey at SPD, and the forced resignantion of former Captain Lacertosa. Both under 3 foot 7 inches, or so I've heard. I think they got Laracey fired for the quazi porno stash, but the lack of height didn't help any. The UFAMP is widely know for the horrific 1972 Midget Massacre and the unforgetable 1983 Short Person's Pandemic. The Umpalumpa population has never recovered, that's why they used digital Umpalumpa's in the remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as well as the fact there has never been an Wizard of Oz 2, the Witch Strikes Back; no little people left around. All thanks to the UFAMP, Rough times those were, rough times in deed. I thought with the advent of hit TV shows such as Little People Big world and the other one with the lilliputian Doctor Woman, the Little Couple, we would be over this type of behavior. The Discovery Channel really needs a few more midget shows, perhaps a midget show where the little mom as eight kids: Octo Midget Mom, or MidgOcto Mom!

If your don't know the real story then you obviously don't work at SPD so wait a few days and you can read all about it in the H-Trib while they bash the entire department for one guys mistakes. Should be good reading, one of the H-Trib Anti-Cop Duo (Crummy Hair and the Rusty Ruger, I wonder which one is the side kick?) was up in IA pulling the file just the other day. Maybe we'll get some airtime on an actual news channel, like C-Span or PBS......

I know many of you do not like that fact of merger with us. I can honestly say that in this day and age, it is the BEST thing for all of us! It is not as bad as it seems. I urge all of you to come together on this issue and lets have a successful merger between our two agencies that will make us the best in the area! Some have said i am "power hungry" but that is not the case. I DID earn every promotion in the S/O, which is irrelevant to this post. Again, lets bring our families together and make this one big happy agency. Any questions, contact me.

you guys/girls are unbeliveable. You air all your department issues on a site for the world to see and I read it for comic relief. You bash your staff and each other but you stand on the corner and knock on doors seeking support for your cause from private citizens like myself. You folks have a very difficult job and I couldn't do it, however you make private citizens like myself wonder why do I support such a group of whinning individuals who chose to voice their opinions on this site instead of approching those you have problems with and handling things in a professional manner. This is a sad sad day. However, I still support Law Enforcement and ask that you be safe.

To the last poster:
Very well said, the vast majority of Officers and Deputies use this site in the same manner that you do. For comic relief regarding often frustrating occurances inside of our respective agencies. However I would remind you to be warry of painting everyone at SPD and the SSO with a broad brush as to often is the case in the media and public sentiment as a whole. There is and always will be problem employees in every line of work whether it be in Law Enforcement or any other occupation. The 10% rule always seems to apply, no matter where you work and no matter what you do there will always be 10 percent of the people you work with that are malcontent slugs or problem starters. Don't let those Officers and Deputies taint your outlook on the rest of the profession. Thanks for your support and continue to enjoy the forum, and take it for what it is, not as the voice of all the Officers and Deputies on the road!
