Do any Officers that work for MDPD think it has a lot of history? Say like NYPD or LAPD?

Actually, we do.
We don't have the history of institutional corruption of NYPD nor the history of Civil Right violations of LAPD, but we have a history.
Why do you ask?

I'm a retired officer and I recently moved to Miami and it doesn't seem to have much history, just wondering about the PD.

It is very simple we used to have a great and proud department. Then some Cuban scumbag by the name of Carlos Alvarez was given the helm of the USS Metro-Dade and messed it all up. Since then it's all been history. That is our history. One blunder to the next all thanks to one man. Lets hope that some stability can be restored in time to go back to the old ways prior to the softball clubs and special friends and family cliques.

Yeah,

Blame Carlos, or you can go further back when the department had a bunch of racist thugs. Thats why the commission did away with the elected sheriff because of the scandals and corruption back in the 50s so this is not something that Carlos Alvarez invented it was always going on in Dade County, Metro-Dade, Miami-Dade, change the name when a scandal hits

And another thing those softball clubs were started under Bobby Jones, and Fred Taylor's regime. Bobby Gonzalez was promoted by Fred Taylor, so was Bencomo, so get off of Carlos' back, you simp.
