"It's a very positive change that the age for receiving full benefits is increasing," said Alicia Munnell, director of the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College. "Increasing the retirement age is the single most important thing [states] can do" to tame future pension costs, because it reduces the number of years the state is paying a benefit, she said.

It is hard to argue with the content of the attachment. It is, in my mind, a given that the rules governing F. R. S. retirement are going to change, and not in favor of the worker. I think it is a matter of inegrity and fairness on the part of the State that negative changes be imposed on the new hirees and not those who have already become vested in F. R. S. For those who agree with me, I encourage you to make your feelings known to Legislators and who ever is the new Governor.
