Hiring and Interviews

A friend of mine went to interview with your agency last week - can anyone tell me how many people you are hiring - how many people interviewed...how long the process takes? I may consider applying if they are still hiring. Thanks for any information.

Stay away from here uless you want to baby sit these chack heads kids or hold their hands when they break the law. I can't even do real policework. I have to stay on the res and be a slave. Ironic; we took their land, now they take our pride, integrity, honor. I guess is payback if you want to support your family and pay your bills. Our command staff Motto "If you dont like it, go somewhere else".

I agree, probably someone who doesnt make arrests, sits in there car all day, most likely someone who is retired, you guessed it, you CANT do realy police work. Because its you, maybe you are your own problem

Depends on what rez you are looking at, some rezs are short, some are full, are u working now,, reitred, what?

I am in the Collier area - can't move since my house will never sell! I was looking into the Immokalee/B.C. job but it isn't posted anymore. Not retired - around 10 years sworn experience but out of the game for a couple of years doing consulting work (hard to come by with no benefits). Do you know how many positions they were looking to fill from the last posting and when they will post agasin - maybe some will have taken other jobs if right out of the academy. Thanks for any info.

Because the ones leaving have figured out that the Command Staff is not qualified, are bully's, and out for only themselves. The Tribeis making more money than ever before with the new gaming and when was the last time you saw a raise, or they talked about giving you a pension. They step on you and then expect you to look the other way.
Some people have enough and leave.

There is nothing wrong with our command staff.. let me rephrase that, there is nothing wrong with the command staff from majors and above, They have not yet "bullie" anyone, if they have, give me an example.

Did they get through the cracks? Some of the officers that have left are good officers that went to good departments. Not all of them were fired.

Someone did bring up the command staff, scroll 4 posts up and read sweeper's comments. didn see it? no wonder you can qualify at the range. no one said about any of them being fired. its people like you that makes Will's blood pressure go up, why dont you do yourself a favor and shut ur face. its not anyones fault you are you. I like Will. This is the only place he can work, he knows that. In reality this is the best security job. We just need to help each other through these hard times. What incident i am out of the loop. I do agree with ya.L.E is becoming more complicated that it is. What ever happened to just simply locking up bad people. Some of these people just need a good ole fashioned passionate a** whippin. But it is true, what goes around,,,,really goes around

You obviously do not work for FL. Since coming to SPD FL has revamped dispatch, raised the bar in CI / SCU, and reinvented the evidence room; Now he is fixing broken windows in road patrol. A true fireman; when given a task he is mission oriented and quickly extinguishes the fire. His employees are the most productive in the agency, most loyal to the department, and most dedicated to the community. A visionary leader that inspires others to become the best they can and empowers subordinate supervisors to do their job.

You obviously do not work for FL. Since coming to SPD FL has revamped dispatch, raised the bar in CI / SCU, and reinvented the evidence room; Now he is fixing broken windows in road patrol. A true fireman; when given a task he is mission oriented and quickly extinguishes the fire. His employees are the most productive in the agency, most loyal to the department, and most dedicated to the community. A visionary leader that inspires others to become the best they can and empowers subordinate supervisors to do their job.

Revamped dispatch? Is that why the radio system is the worst it has ever been. Some of the most arrogant dispatchers we have ever worked with. He has systematically ruined criminal cases. How about the shooting in BC where he allowed family members to enter a crime scene. How about the Baker incident in Brighton where he told an officer to not have the person handcuffed and they ran away, but of course he did not take responsibility. strategic planning 1.1.1 is where road patrol has to gather everything for his unit. so in actuallity we dont need scu or ci because road patrol does all the work anyway. road patrol has also make more drug arrests that scu because they are working on "intel" all day. Go to records and pull the numbers and ofcourse road patrol is a head like ususal. a leader in obr and issuing disipline. i hear of the people wanting out of scu and ci and no one wanting in BTW HUCK reinvented the evidence room not him. he probably took credit for it though.i have never one time seen him in the community because he never leaves hollywood. and he empowers subordinates. then why he is always calling them and telling them what to do. how many times has he been on other reservations besides hollywood. try almost never. one thing is consistent. is blaming others for his poor decision making.
and as far as the quote goes, it doesnt suit him. Our Chief visits every rez all the time, i cant say that for him because he is too good leave his ivory tower.a true fireman? firemen are heros. doesnt extiguish the problems more like squashes the issue wiht trembling hands.

Hi Frank..... nobody else believes this about you.

Ok let's be honest to ourselves, Seminole Police Department is just a job, It pays the bills and that's it. It's not a department to be proud of, honestly I don't even carry my badge no more because it of what it represents. Total Ridiculousness! I think I feel better telling people that I work for Wackenhut then seminole pd (I'd probably get better beni's too). Let us also come to terms with our benefits, it sucks! Oh, and lets not forget our fabulous 401K which the tribe has decreased their employer contribution! Is there anything else that I forgot about SPD in a nutshell? Now, I know people are gonna want to bash my post but I ask you this, how is it better then every other dept. ? Is it because of the workload? because if so then your just a lazy ass and seminole is great for you !

Hey partner, be a friend to your friend and tell him/her to run like hell away from the SEMINOLE police dept. I know times are hard to find a job, the money and so called POLICE title is not worth it-(trust me). wait it out and find a good agency.

There are some ? few people let at the agency who stay quiet cause they have families and do not want to loose the job, if they could they would be out trust me. the agency will act good tell you many things of false hopes????

10-8, ride around, eat, kiss butt to indians, ride, look, kiss butt ect. OH, listen to your sergeant or LT. with the trash that WILL makes us do, go home.

CAREFUL- the SPD wants you to know the community, know the indians, only the right ones? but they decide when its the right ones? humm-

Then you go to tribal meetings, where the chiefs and members be-little you, yell and complain about things you the officer who has no control over? but you better not say a thing smile and way, take it! its kinda like your a slave to the UNTOUCHABLE indians.

In the meeting they will tell the OFFICERS to do your job? humm heard that before?
One major chief said: "You Officers need to do your job better! get the Nig__rs and Spi_s off the RESERVATIONS" other words for blacks and spanish people.

So tell me why? why and HOW? The SEMINOLE indian tribe can boldy say to not one, not two officers and command staff but to a whole room full of its employees to do such a nasty and ugly task? Are we in the sixty's why cant the goverment of the the USA do anything about this bold face violation? WIll Latchford? you sat there like it was not even said? you allow this and agree to it as well? I know you do!

IT's okay for the blacks and spanish people to spend the money in the casino's right but how dare them come to the reservation? I once told myself, how in the hell did i allow myself to put my career in the hands of these SAVEGES?

How about when major Auger said what are they serving at the hard rock WET WILLIES, Watermelon flavor to get so many blacks over there? hummmmm? then we get ordered to move the crowd of blacks from the area even if the have bought something and are holding a wet willies cup in thier hand. Move along now, it hurts the image of the regular white clubs at the hardrock.

So friend, this is the trash, junk, lies and all that your friend will have to be part of if the get a job with the SEMINOLE POLICE, i wil that they are passed by, it will be better off for them.

I AGREE WITH SOME OF WHAT YOU SAY. THE DAY TO DAY ROUTINE IS WHAT EVERYONE CHOOSES TO DO. THAT IS NO ONES FAULT BUT THERE OWN. CHIEF HAS NEVER SAID DONT ARREST INDIANS. HE NEVER DID,,EVER. They own u, only if u let them. I have arrested the council reps son, daughter, son in law, the chairmans son, daughter, and everyone else. Im still here and hated for it. But not hated for it by the seminoles. go figure

I personally seen the times when the tribal council would give out 30,000 dollars cash at the christmas parties to the tribal members? HUMMM never seen TAXES paid on that???? how about every time elections come around the osceola and cypress families due to the political ties get new hummers? cadillacs? and money to secure the vote and keep them in power.
