Letter: Council's raises causing city circus

I did not attend last night's council meeting, but I received several e-mails from residents describing in great detail the proceedings. As usual, it was a circus. Mayor Myron Rosner is still trying to avoid dealing with the tenfold salary increase the council voted for itself last year, despite the demands by the taxpaying residents to repeal it.
Every council meeting, one of his colleagues attempts to revisit it either by workshop or by resolution, and every council meeting Rosner shoots it down.She also said she wouldn't want it changed until after the next election. At least we have transparency from her!
Last night Phyllis Smith also stated that she liked the approximate $27,000-salary-increase just fine, even though she didn't originally vote for it.
Like Rosner, she's probably getting the picture that in the next election she'll be voted out of that seat faster than she got into it. The remaining council members agree to fix the problem they started. We'll see.

As you see now, Phyllis Smith is twoface and likes her new raise even though she was one of the TWO Council peolpe who tried to save face that she did not want the raise but now likes it. WHAT A JOKE THIS COUNCIL AND CITY IS!!!!!!!!!!
