Rumor mill-FHP Sergeants will transition to wearing gold brass in the near future. There will be no change to unmarked patrol units

This is an awesome idea, and would bring FHP sergeants in line with their counter parts of the other agencies...

If this is true then I am happy for the Sergeants. Virtually all Sergeants I see from other agencies wear Gold.

BS........This has been talked about for years and there is never money for it. What makes next/this year different? I would just as soon keep it silver. The gun belt brass is a constant maintenance thing as well.

Brass has to be polished. Now the Sergeants have to spend more of their money on cleaning materials. Let the Lieutenants and above have their brass. They're all about symbolism with their unmarked cars and marked parking spaces. Sgt's are about SOAR money toward retirement. We don't care about gold emblems or "prestige". Show us the money. :lol:

Well at least one of them does. She told somebody that they were parking in her space the other day. And if the truth be known, she could have used the exercise :shock:

They might as well get 'in line with other agencies'. Soon enough FHP will give traffic enforcement to those other agencies as FHP gets more into other areas anyway. Go try to find a call answering zone trooper now anyhow!
