A shot locker at LA Fitness, a shot toilet at the station, P Buttons, a book of Sknnerisms.. The list goes on and on.

I see the Chief has moved on from shooting toilets and lockers. He is now turning a blind eye to corruption within his staff. Way to go chief, the toilets and lockers appreciate the move :snicker:

*His final down fall was shooting the toilet in the bathroom.
*Before that he shot a locker in an L.A Fitness locker room
*He wanted all Class A uniforms to have "P" buttons on the lapel
*He spent 1000's of dollars on a summit at the Biltore hotel for him and his staff to create a "mission statement" .... "In partnership with the community we serve." was created. Although never used- thank God...partly due to the fact that it was plagirized from another out of state police department.
* He allowed a pea head city manager to direct him and the department to aggressively ticket UPS drivers and FedEx drivers because a UPS driver told the city manager to "cram it."
* He rewarded and promoted loser and incompetant superviosrs all the while decimating functional and high flying units by allowing these same supervisors to remove vital officers and detectives (Marine Patrol, SIS, PIO etc)
* He rode on the marine patrol boat with his radio in his back pocket "keying" the microphone with each wave. Road units had to switch to a different freuency for 3 hours.
* He had his gun stolen and his badge stolen from his city car while at a crime watch meeting (could happen to anyone I guess...but Chief shouldn't you have your gun on you?)
* He sat in his car and watched an angry group of Elian supporters advance on a lone female officer stationed at 8th street and 37 avenue and never assisted her.
* He took a position with the city "writing the city manual" for 13 months till he made pension elgibility

The list goes on....

Chief Skinner was a wonderful Chief, and is a fine leader and a personal friend of mine as well as many of the residents of Coral Gables. His difficulties came because of an unprofessional workforce being unable to accept an out of town expert in the area of public safety. I wish him well in his future endeavors and will encourage him to find out who the people are that are slandering him on this web site and prosecute them.

It is not slander if it is the truth.

Golden Beach Manager Gets A Dewey For Christmas
By Francisco Alvarado in Banana RepublicanTue., Dec. 29 2009 @ 12:09AM

?Golden Beach Town Manager Alexander Diaz was a very naughty boy this past December 25. Miami Beach police officers arrested the 31-year-old small city bureaucrat for driving under the influence of alcohol. According to the arrest report, Diaz attempted to drive off in his gray BMW SUV after informing one of the cops at the scene:

"You don't know who I am? I am the city manager *****!"

Diaz could not be reached for comment. He did not respond to a message sent to his town email address and his assistant said he would not be back in the office until January 5.

According to the arrest report, a friend of Diaz was driving his Beemer when they were pulled over on Alton Road and Sixth Street at 3:30 a.m. The town manager was in the passenger's seat and "appeared to be passed out."

The driver woke up a surly Diaz, who allegedly said: "What the fazugie? Just go home." The driver was asked to get out of the SUV.

Diaz got out too and walked around to the driver's side. He ignored an officer's order to stay put and commands to do a roadside sobriety test, according to the arrest report.

Diaz's bust is the second black eye to hit the tiny, wealthy town of Golden Beach this month. Three weeks ago, CBS4 reported on Golden Beach Police Chief James Skinner's decision to keep Lt. Robert Barrio on the job despite facing felony kidnapping, false imprisonment and battery charges in Alchua County.

Apparently, cronyism and corruption is rampant in Golden Beach. A tipster informs me that one reason Barrios hasn't been suspended is due to his friendship with Diaz and Golden Beach Police Capt. Joseph Barasoain. Barrio and Diaz attended high school together. Barasoain and Barrio were police explorers in Homestead.

The source claims Barasoain has been up to no good too. The captain, in his city-provided squad car, picked up Diaz when he bonded out of county jail. It wasn't the first time Barasoain used his police vehicle to get a buddy out of the slammer. He did the same thing for Barrio when the lieutenant was arrested seven months ago in Gainesville.

Yes, there will be openings in the near future for the positions of Town Manager, Police Chief, Captain, Lieutenent, 2 Sgts, and about 3 officer slots. Anyone interested should apply no later than February 1st. The applicants must have a clean background, and no malicious intent. The police Chief must be ethical, and a true leader since the one we have now is a hypocrite. Good luck to all the applicants that qualify.
