tooooo fat for FHPA

So I am 6-3 and weigh 253lbs.

I am told that I am way to fat to volunteer. However if I can shed 35lbs I'm in??? Really??? These guys are nuts.

Yeah - I know we can all drop a couple lbs. But this is nuts. I am not a little guy, and I think most troopers would be thrilled to have a guy my size at a 10-94. But hey what do I know?

If your'e weight is more muscle than body fat, have your doctor write a letter; and then have the doc from fhp check you out.

Long, long time ago FHP had "weight standards" so strictly enforced that TROOPERS were fired who were GOOD troopers getting the job done. Get off your ignorance and get with the program today! You cannot refuse ANYONE acceptance for FHPA nowdays, unless the weight standards are enforced again within FHP, without all hell breaking loose....a.k.a., more dumb lawsuits to take away your pay-raise, MOST on the patrol deserve.

FHPA doesnt really have weight standards in policy. The only weight standard is if the doctor doing your exam decides you are too fat for police type work but there are no set guidelines.
