Thou shalt not smoke pot on a church bus
Two women were arrested early Oct. 29 for allegedly smoking marijuana on a bus in the parking lot of the First Baptist Church at 38300 Fifth Ave., the Zephyrhills Police Department said.
An officer allegedly observed Jordan Leigh Carr, 19, of 5th Street, Zephyrhills, and Sarah Michelle Vogel, 20, of Port Richey, exiting a church bus by the back door at 12:09 a.m.
When the officer approached the two women, they initially tried to walk away. After the officer made contact with them, the arrest report noted a strong smell of marijuana was detected. When asked what they had been doing, the two women said they had been looking for a quiet place to talk.
When the officer checked the bus, a strong odor of marijuana was present inside it, and cigar residue was observed.
Both women were charged with burglary of a conveyance and were taken to the Land O’ Lakes Jail. Both have since been released from custody.
