DOES ANYONE KNOW IF WE BOUGHT 2010 PATROL CARS. I HEARD THEAT THEY BOUGHT ALL CHARGERS.

I was told that we bought 30 of the new Camaros and 70 Chargers. Going to be 3 Camaros and 7 Chargers per troop.

Interesting. Being as Captain Succi is the only reputable poster on this site, I would defer the question to him.

Captain, can you confirm, or deny any vehicle purchases? I figure you would know since you're heading up the installation and equipment of the new MDT's and stands, thus needing to know how many of each stand for each respective car configuration.

Thanks.

Not sure if purchases have been made, but I can tell you the Middleburg facility has no new cars in the lot currently. Also, they were not expecting any new cars any time soon. That is a fact.

I have also heard there is a issue buying Dodge because the state bid went to Maroone, but they were closed down by Chrysler. That is a rumor so I do not know the specifics.

i don't think they bought anything yet. The reason I say this is because several vehicles have been returned to middleburg to shrink our fleet. The car i drove back was a 2006 cv with less than 90k. I didn't see anything new sitting around or being worked on by the prisoners.

The Colonel addressed cars at the recon class last week. They only have a 3 mil budget for cars this year, down from 7 mil in past years. They are buying 150 cars this year. You will have the choice of a Charger or Crown Vic and THI will have the choice of a Tahoe or CV. He also said they are looking at ASP's to replace the PR-24.

WOW - THAT'S ABOUT 2 CARS PER COUNTY. THAT MEANS THAT ORANGE COUNTY WILL ONLY GET 2 CARS THIS YEAR. WE ONLY HAD 1 TROOPER IN OUR ENTIRE 3 COUNTY DISTRICT THAT GOT A NEW CAR LAST YEAR.

There are only 150 troopers. So that means everyone will get a new car.

The Patrol has a 2.3 million dollar budget for cars. Which equals approximately 100 vehicles. My troop has been pulling people out of cars that have over 100,000 miles and put them in spares. Lt. Col. Duarte and Captain Spears recently said unmarked cars such as office personnel will go well over 100,00 and cars used on the road will be replaced first.

You better take care of what you have, you will not be getting a new for a good 4 to 5 years from now.
