What makes you think he's going any where, perhaps to many meetings at the Ice Cream table has you confused?

09-21-2009, 11:12 PM
pissed off commo....can we leave the man alone....D 1 is the thoughest place to work.......you got your brass, action plans, extra patrols, paperwork on top of paperwork, etc.......no one is perfect....some of you talk way to fast and others are hard of hearing.....if he is leaving us let him hear it from his supervisor and not someone who is doing one........Not to quote a thug but "cant we all just get along."

09-22-2009, 03:53 AM
GO EAT ANOTHER TWINKIE COMMO AND SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!

09-22-2009, 01:23 PM
 pissed off commo!!! I wonder who that may be? No matter, Hope may be alot of things but one thing he is not and thats a whine and cry type of person. You know exactely where you stand with him. I know that not everyone in commo feel as you do. Your skin must be really thin, you may want to eat more donuts or ice cream or what ever you eat up there.

Come on people......lets cut eachother some slack here..........I dont work at Dist. 1 but i have heard it can be a pretty hard place to work.....BOTH because of the calls AND the brass..........Lets not make it any harder than it needs to be by bashing eachother.........I used to work OT up in "Crystal Palace" .......usually 4 hours at a shot.......and I gotta tell ya......the stress levels can be worse than anything i have experienced on the road.......many times, after the 4 hours was up, I could feel the stress as I left the building........It gave me a HUGE amount of respect for those that work up there every day......I pray i never get hurt and cant work the road anymore and have to go upstairs......
For those that work in Commo.......my hat goes off to you......i try to be patient with you when i am stressed on the road......and i try EVEN HARDER when i realize a trainee is on the radio......we were all new at one time......and I try to remember my screw-ups......believe me, there were plenty    ......Just a thought, maybe send out a message when we have a new one ont he channel so we can be EXTRA patient.......I dont mind at all...... :cop: :cop: :cop:

Oh please, I'm so tired of hearing how rough your job in commo is, what a joke! I've worked up there, it's all about who's sleeping with who and which deputy looks hot in his uniform. The dispatchers are all trying to hook up with the Lt's and Capt's, and the only reason you are not put in your place is because of all the infidelity running rampant. Look at the self admitted lesbian who after she started dating a Capt told people now she could boss around deputies because she was immune to discipline. I was there at Gypsy Horse in Wellington as she was bragging about it. Paul Hope is a cops cop, he is hard working, extremely knowledgable, and would stand up for any cop any day of the week. He feels EXACTLY the same way most of the rest of us do about some of you dispatchers - the only difference is he is more vocal over the air about it. Get over your selves. We don't need a 10-4 check while we are on a sig 4, we don't need YOU trying to decide which calls are dispatched first, we don't need you reading the entire stupid comment section on every single delayed call over the air. We don't need any of it. A simple "10-103" is all we need you to say over the air. I can acknowledge by hitting "acknowledge" on my laptop. I can pick and chose which calls I want to go to first, and the only one with any say in the matter is the Sgt's, not some girl sitting behind a desk who has never worked the road and has absolutely no idea what it is like on the street. YOUR attitudes up there is what drives the attitudes from us on the road. Why is it some of the dispatchers, like P. Bowers, most of the men, (except overturf and hatcher) and all most all of the newer girls with ID's 8500 and higher, can be nice and pleasant constantly? Yet the same handfull of dispatchers like jackie, midori, and miss super queen witch herself 7911 ALWAYS HAVE ATTITUDES? You are not running the show. Your one and only job is to advise us which calls are holding. You are not there for my safety, if I don't answer you on the first time, chances are I am busy with something a hell of a lot more important than your ego. We take care of ourselves, and if we get in to a jam, then it is our fellow brothers who are going to come to our aid, not some dispatcher sitting miles away behind a desk in a a/c office eating a donut. If you don't like listening to him over the air, then do what the stupid laptops were designed to do - send the call 103, and leave it alone. The big boys carrying the guns and responsibility will take care of the rest.

WOW. I am completely speechless thinking that a deputy sheriff would write the aforementioned blogged. You got to be kidding. Do not 10-4 check me, because I am more likely busy! Just wow, great officer safety mentality you have. So when you are getting your arse handed to you, by that driver on that traffic crash, and you can't get to your radio, don't blame anyone but yourself. I would rather have 10-4 check me on the so called routine calls, then them not to be there and never check on me. Seriously what are you thinking? Why not just cut out commo and have citizens call you direct since you are apparently super cop. Yes, commo can get frustrated and pissy, but so can deputies. It is the nature of the job, it is stressful, but to blatantly say basically all we commo do to is enter the calls into the computer for you to look up the job and choose which one you want to work is ridiculous. I am really hoping you wrote this out of frustration and don't really mean what you said. I really wish you the best and stay safe. Everyone as their bad days, just put yourself in the other person's shoes.

When was the last time somebody was saved from an ass kicking by getting a 10-4 check. And speaking of officer safety why is it when I 10-50 a car and it takes several minutes to get the tag back the dispatcher gets annoyed that I dont answer immediately. Did you ever think that after stoping the car and engaging the driver, my full attention is with the vehicle and its occupants. I may be engaged in conversation, watching the mutt in the back and keeping my eye on traffic etc etc. Hearing commo call to tell me its clear (which my computer told me 10 minutes earlier ) is not at the top of the list. If I need help commo will be the first to know. By the way Paul Hope may come off a little crusty but he is a good cop and we should appreciate him instead of *****ing on him.

Don't forget the 42 inch LCD TV's hangin on each wall piping in Cable TV! You road guys need to stick your heads inside the commo center... No wonder they take so long for tag info, they are waiting for a commerical break on Oprah!

unreal.

09-23-2009, 10:03 AM
COMMO, you are such horrible people, because for at least eight hours a day you are sitting in a cubbie hole so you feel the need to go on Leo affairs and bash a guy like d/s Hope for doing his job and talk shit behind his back. Why don't you call Paul and say it to his face instead of announcing it to the world. Whoever wrote that first comment, I would love to find out and trust me, if i ever did and met you, I would have some harsh choice words for you. Paul Hope is not only a zone partner but a good friend who can be trusted, not like some of the idiots here (no names mentioned) because I am not like that, I say it to there face.

Yes, but the public is once again the huge loser due to the fact that very few Sergeants actually are listening to the dispatches and only wait to get a call on their cell phone or by dispatch if needed.
So, since the Sergeant isn't directing the calls and listening out and determining which call should have priority and seeing that a D/S is taking way too long on a call while others are being stacked up or that three of his/her zone cars should not be going on that dog bite or 10-50 and should be handling their calls or remaining in their zones.....it must fall on the folks known as dispatchers to keep it going. They must supervise the deputies and get through a tour of duty getting the most they can out of the deputies out there who are supposed to be diligent about their jobs; handling their calls immediately without griping and groaning; taking care of business; getting back in service and moving quickly to their next call...and if not another call, then remaining in their zone slowly patrolling their communities; preparing reports, etc. IT IS REALLY TOO BAD THAT IT IS UP TO THE DISPATCHERS TO RUN THE DEPARTMENT FROM OUR COZY LITTLE CUBBIES UP HERE. We all should get Sergeants' pay and Shift Commander pay.........you folks need to grow up!

09-24-2009, 12:41 AM
WOW ! ! ! Dont worry Commmo.....not all of us feel this way......Sure we many get a little snippy with eachoter from time to time........ we ALL get to feel the stress from time to time.......But having worked OT up there.....I know how it is......Just keep up the good work.....I may not care for a particular dispatcher........but you guys do a GREAT job as a whole ! !

09-24-2009, 03:29 AM
Please tell me you're kidding; they don't really have 42" LCD TVs hanging on the commo walls running regular cable programs?

The original post from the employee in commo should never have been written. It's wasted energy and uncalled for.

However, for those of you working the road that feel that communications personnel are NOT an integral part of the team, then you are sadly mistaken and have no idea of what you're talking about. Most of you bashing each other in this thread sound like rookies who need some further training in the aspect of "teamwork".

Communications is no different than any other division or section of the PBSO. You have your stars, and you have some absolute duds. It's part of the job, and has been for years. Deal with it by simply doing your job as you know it should be done and move on. Quit your crybaby whining, and your "macho" crap about not needing 10-4 checks, etc. That's their job, deputy! You would be well served by concentrating on your skills related to multi-tasking and answering the radio while observing the perps on-scene simultaneously and updating your status. It can be done . . . and has been for decades.

I was always grateful for good dispatchers and quality back-up of deputies working in the zones adjoining mine when I was on the job. I worked with some very intelligent, saavy, and courageous deputies and communications personnel during my tenure.

Just do your job, folks...quit the bashing. You're embarrassing the PBSO Alumni & Veterans of the past who not only talked-the-talk...but, walked-the-walk!

There is an old saying "An Army divided will only defeat itself"

Commo,
I think that you guys do a job that a lot of people wouldn't or couldn't, for that, thanks. Everyone loses their temper and I think that is how this thread started. Please keep up the good work and continue to 10-4 check us. I have that extra second while I am watching the occupants to acknowledge you and thank you for checking on us. Oh by the way we have found deputies collapse from medical issues, all because it started with a 10-4 check. So get over yourself...

What ever happened to the monthly Commo newsletter? I haven't seen one in a while and I am a little disappointed. I really enjoyed all of the reader submitted recipes like "Cheeto's battered Ring-Dings" and the very popular "Bar-B-Que'd Choco-Chip Polish sausage mash-up."

Even more impressive is the office chairs with enhanced structural support....

The post above about the 10-4 checks should have went further. They were trying to say the whole 10-4 check is a joke. We have a guy who runs around all morning picking up felony warrants by himself, and never gets a 10-4 check, but if Hope is on a delayed 30, bogus sig 4, any call, then they are 10-4 checking him every 15 minutes. It's only done so they can catch him not answering his radio and then they can "burn" him. It's the same few dispatchers already mentioned by name above with the attitudes. They are not Sgt's, it is not up to them to decide what deputies do. The road Sgt is the one who makes the decisions, and if there isa problem, they need to worry about it, not some clueless female in commo who has never been out on the road. And by the way, the policy is the dispatchers have to notify their supervisor if they have a problem, they are not allowed to call the Sgt's cell phone diectly and complain about a deputy. They get away with it because they are all flirting with all te Sgt's and Lt's who work up there, but policy forbids it. Next time one of them calls your Sgt and complains about you, file a formal complaint against her for breaking the chain of command.

I especially like when they 10-4 check you to death if they are board or want to bust chops. But if they are busy you could be out there for an hour and not get any. How bout when a favorite dep dont answer they get a quick and quiet page. But when a problem child misses a call its call the Sgt, beep beep beep, code 3, beep beep beep, call his house, call the watch commander, where was he last, beep beep beep, notify aviation and the cdo, etc etc. A quick page usually remidies the whole situation why dont we just do that at the begining?

ever tried the little debbie double-decker bacon deluxe pizza burrito? it's to die for and it gives you the complex carbs and protien you need to sit in front of a computer, answer phones and conquer the most challenging game of minesweeper.

Can you recommend a good commo breakfast?

Sure, a bowl of cereal is always a smart way to begin a shift of answering phones and typing on a computer. Especially if you like to bang on the keyboard hard enough that the noise of the keys can be heard over the radio. Try this easy recipie-

Start with a bowl.
Fill it with freshly microwaved Uncle Chow's Kung Fu shrimp mini-egg rolls
Add a liter of Cola
Eat with a soup ladle

Enjoy!

Paul K. Hope is a POS. He has an attitude way too big for his own good. He treats everyone like garbage unless they are of benefit to him. He is a goddamn liar when it comes to covering his own ass after he messes up. I for one can NOT stand any IDIOT cop who would lie because they get called on their wrongdoings. If you are going to be an IDIOT, then tell the truth. But in DS Hopes case, he thinks he can walk around being a complete jerk and if his superiors get called in, he LIES HIS ASS OFF and claims it was everyone else's fault and he was only acting by the book. What a frickn jerkoff.

He has more complaint of rudeness against him then his entire squad combined. One day, this ass will HOPEfully get his. Jerk cops eventually get what they deserve. He must hate his sad little existence in his small little townhome in wellington with his girlfriend. I also noticed on the payroll list, he is one of the lowest paid officers and makes almost no overtime, despite the fact he has been with PBSO for over 7 years now. Just goes to show he either hates his job, or his pay reflects his performance.

I really hate the cops that lose their humanity and assume everyone is a jerk because that is all he sees, day in and day out. Maybe, just maybe, if he acted nicer, others around him would too, and he could see that there is good in this world and not everyone is a scumbag that needs to be arrested by the great mediocre deputy Hope. One can only HOPE.

He is a sad little man working the crap end of west Palm Beach county, and he hates it. Most of all, his performance and attitude show it.

He is a lawsuit waiting to happen. He will either cause PBSO to pay out lots of money for his gross actions in thinking he's a badass, or he will end up dead when some real bad guy on the crap end of HOPE's attitude, thinks it worth f#cking up a cop for how he was treated. It's idiots like Hope that give so many good guys in green a bad name. How sad. What a sad sad excuse for a deputy.
