The LCSO is very close to having the votes to enter collective bargaining. The name calling and rants should be avoided. Some people aren't the most capable writers. Everyone has their own opinion on what is best for their personal and professional situation. It would be wise to accept that these differences exist.

LEOs should all be on the same team. The best thing that could happen right now is to begin speaking calmly and intelligently about what both those pro and con union would like to see changed, what they would like to see remain the same, and what doesn't exist that should be added.

If the votes are not there and the unionization effort fails, would the Sheriff be willing to form an employee advocacy panel comprised of Deputies? This is a reasonable alternative. Clearly, some (safe to say many based on the apparent success of the unionization efforts) are not happy right now and this may provide some positive results.
