RIVIERA BEACH — Eight police officers have been taken off the street and put on desk duty after allegations surfaced that they worked off duty security details in Miami-Dade County, according to police.

The eight officers have been re-assigned to administrative duty pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation, said city spokeswoman Rose Anne Brown. Brown said she could not discuss specific details of the investigation other than it involves allegations of performing off-duty work outside the city.

A source familiar with the investigation said the officers were working security details at a Chili's Restaurant in Miami-Dade County and that the city's policy for off-duty security work requires prior approval.

Brown said a determination would be made on any disciplinary action after the police department's internal affairs division finishes its investigation

This administration has no clue how to run a department. They take officers of the road for a minor policy violation while they conduct the internal investigation and pay other officers over time to cover their shifts, poor management.

Don't get me wrong if the allegations were of serious nature then of course take them of the road , but this is a minor violation.

What a waste of tax dollars, wait till the post gets this. WTF
