The State Attorney's Office says the Lee County sergeant who shot and killed a Bonita Springs man in February did it in self defense.
After completing its investigation, the state decided not to file charges against Sergeant Eric Nalewaik.
Nalewaik shot and killed Guy Petrey on February 12 on Torchfire Trail in Bonita.
Deputies went to his home after they say they received disturbing phone calls from him earlier in the day.
