You silly little kids...If any of you were reading this site without being aware of or involved with ZPD, you would be laughing your proverbials off.Do you know just how silly you sound? It certainly does not sound like a proffessional police dept.My city deserves better policemen/women than what you come across as on this board.

I do not work for any part of Zhills in any capacity.I am a citizen who has watched the internal bleeding with ZPD for many years.It is time for you kids to stop squabling over petty matters and man up to your jobs.No administration will ever be successful as long as this back biting goes on.Your brothers and sisters on the force need to know their back is covered at all times, whether in the office or on the streets.I can imagine some of you would be dubious about putting your trust in each other should you be faced with danger.Thats sad.

This is not the phone call I wanted to wake up to today and see this crap. Since this is a public forum, your "fixin" to get my public opinion. I suppose I'm the only "E.K." at the deptartment so I assume your talking about me. Yes, I'm outspoken and opinionated but understand this *please leave me out of your little interdepartment redneck drama* If you have a problem with me you need to pull up your belt, get your tail from between your legs, stand tall and come see me. You all know where I work, where my business is and what my cell # is. I always have coffee on at the store come on out and we'll talk. I work for my family, myself and the city- in that order. I want to come in and do my job and then go home...and be left alone. If you want to sit behind your computer in your underwear and flip between porn and this site and figure out who is posting then so be it. LEAVE ME OUT OF IT. Let me make this perfectly clear: I did not take the sgt's exam, I've turned in my memo resigning FTO and I don't want to run the department. I have from time to time read the post about a Police department I spent many years with. I keep hoping things will someday get better and the department will become a team. Somehow some way I hope Dave Shears can accomplish this task. I know Dave's heart, and one of the last times I talked with him before I retired I told him to stay away from the stir stick, and be the person I knew he was. I was shocked when Spina hired him as Chief but more proud of Dave than he will ever know. I cannot stress enough to all who read this post that the enviournment of decension and mistrust has been in this agency since the 1970s. There was a time the department was very close, but a small group of officers got caught up with some local politics resulting in the firing of Chief Eiland, Bob Howell, Bice, and the city manager. Most of the alegations were false, and after a recall election the new city government reversed the firing of Chief Eiland and he rehired the others. This event changed the Zephyrhills Police Dept. forever, from that point on everyone out of the loop, we used to call the click, were suspected of being a threat for another mutney. The era of Sheriff John Short made it even worse as he and some wealthy cronies decided zPD was crooked and becan operation CUP, directed at finding criminal activity at ZPD. I for one due to working for Short briefly know that operation was initiated to try and direct attention away from Short's administration who were involved with the Mafia (Kings Court) a successful Justice department investigation that removed Short and his co-horts. The above events created so much paranoia within the administration, there was atmosphere of mistrust and most of us were all suspect. The devide this created in the department effected all of us and it was a constant battle for survival. When I retired my greatest hope was that somehow the new Administration could change things. However I did learn in my last days that the new chief was already off to a bad start with female officers who confided in me but refused to go any further out of fear. As much as I loved ZPD I retired angry, frustrated, tired and disapointed. I moved to another state and joined the Department of Public Safety there and found the click there was department wide. We were a team, who looked out for each other as well as the administration. It was the best 3 years of my total 30 years as a police officer. You guys have to find a way to come together within yourselves and the administration. You have so much to gain, and a lot of great tools to work with. I can remember when 268, 280, and myself used barter with Chief Eiland for every new law enforcement tool that came out. We did not always get it right away but usually after nagging the best Police Chief I have ever known enough he would give in and find a way to get it. When Billy left he left a void of strength and integrity never since filled. But Dave if you read this you were around him long enough to remember his character, and you know how bad we all wanted to depose the click and wash ourselves clean of all negativity and mistrust. I am sad it has carried over to folks who do not even know why, but my hopes and prayers are with you all to make change, be as one not the one.
