Guys, Please don't let one or 2 idiots be the representative's for the whole department. There are still some of us down here who know exactly what it means to look out for each other. We are the only friends we have out here. Some get badge heavy and until they get a life (or take a beating!) they won't realize what "brotherhood" means.
From those of us who still know what it means to be a cop to all our brothers in sth Florida and everywhere...be safe!

Go F yourself dade/broward. Anybody that violates our policy of preferred arrest for DUI is just asking to be on the front page of the herald and the back of the unemployment line. Drunks that drive, don't stop because you take em home, Then theres a crash and it's my fault? So stick your brotherhood. I got a family to feed.

When the horrible spate of officers being shot and killed in Miami-Dade and Broward County, one positive thing happenned. If you were there you know that officers came out in waves to help. I was tasked with collecting names and contact info of the responding personnel in several of the incidents. Cops showed up from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach County in each of the incidents. I say most agencies because Monroe County Sheriffs office sent none...........ever

No came out because our admin refused to let us.........

as ALWAYS, u guys don’t know the hole story. This cop was PLASTERED flashing his badge and loaded gun at the deputy too. The deputy that arrested him was told by that officer’s chief of police to arrest the officer. The MCSO deputy also received a letter of apology from Seminole PD for the way their officer treated the MCSO deputy. That officer was a complete @$$ hole to the deputy. How do I know this?? Because I was there. I have never wrote a cop a ticket or arrested one, but this cop mother F#%^%$ED the MCSO deputy up and down. The way I look at it is I am a man before I am a cop. If that Seminole cop would have shut his mouth and owned up to what he did, been humble and apologetic, it more than likely would have worked out much differently. I have stopped thousands of violators before and this Seminole cop was one of the most belligerent arrogant people I have ever met. Why didn’t he treat the deputy that stopped him with “professional courtesy”??? Why is the lack of “professional courtesy” all on the MCSO deputy?

It's not that we didn't want to come, our admn would not authorize us to respond. Don't blame the line level deputy for something they cannot control.

Sounds like the FHP message board. Everyone complains when their "brother in blue" is arrested for a crime.

Correct me if I am wrong, wasn't Monore the place where the Trooper caught the DUI deputy and gave him a ride home...only to have the deputy drive his patrol car drunk...Trooper gets fired.

Bottom line, don't want to go to jail? Don't drive drunk or commit any other crime.

I don't work down there, but I have heard of similar cases. The old "don't drive in dade/broward" etc, is such a joke.

Dear Arresting MCSO unit. Good job with the arrest, sounds like you did the right thing. Now the fun part, request FDLE to advise who has run you on DAVID and NCIC/FCIC.

So what's the final outcome of the Sunrise Police officer? Did he get fired? I hope not.

MCSO Sucks! You all get off on arresting cops? Don't dare come north of your county line. How many more brothers are you going to arrest? Losers!

Just because you are a cop does not mean you are above the law! You should be setting the example and held to the highest point of the law. Your job is to enforce the law. That is what we pay you for! Brotherhood - professional courtesy - well maybe you should try some of that on the citizens who pay your salary to protect us!

I know for a fact MCSO deputies go out of their way to arrest cops and enjoy doing it. Dont buy this "he was an a hole" excuse for one second. Their is ALWAYS discretion! I know of 4 cops from Dade county who got arrested while in the keys who were'nt a_holes, not drunk, and never should of been arrested. Yes, you guys are the talk of the town and have made a real reputation of yourselves. I cant wait to stop one of you cause I can guarentee you will go for a ride for something. You have ruined good peoples careers and dont even care. Your losers, not cops. Get over your save the world syndrome.

You still don't get it do you? I believe you where there when the decision was made to put a LEO in cuffs. Let me tell you something you a-hole, that cop would have probably called or visited and apologized for his actions. You probably would have found out he was a nice guy with a family that just had too much to drink (in the Keys). But now you screwed up his family along with a job that he has always wanted to do. A good cop would have made the right decision, you didn't.

Hold up....!!!! that whole incident was a cluster-mess.... I know the arresting deputy and he called me while I was on-duty and was not happy about what he got sent to do...

- He called me and told me that he was enroute to arrest a cop, he was ORDERED by the shift LT because he told the SGT that he couldnt do it... The LT told him to go "do his job" or turn in his gear. He was their DUI guy, same as I am at my agency.... This mess got pawned off onto him by road patrol.. Unlike my agency, MCSO requires their "specialists" to take primary when it it determined that person fits that scenario. Yes, its BS, but what is he suppose to do ?? Quit his job because some drunk jackass has chosen to be an ass while on vacation ?? Ummm, no..

You cant blame the Officer for others getting themselves into situations.... especially when there are witnesses...

Tango 14 is a good guy, he was put in a crappy situation where he isnt going to lose his livelyhood for some clown who cant respect himself in public...
