I am considering applying to Pembroke Pines PD. I have two years experience. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of the department?? I know all departments have their bs. I'm just looking for some opinions from current officers.

There are many, many pros the biggest one being our benefit package. There are some cons but the biggest one of those is a captain who hopefully will be retiring in about four years to pursue a career in law. You should apply.

You are going to read a lot of negative stuff here, because nobody anonymously complains about good stuff. This should give you a good idea. With the exception of one knuckle head that never should have been hired to begin with, we don't have officers leaving our department to go work for other local agencies. On the other hand, we are constantly picking up officers from other Dade and Broward agencies. If I were to do it all over again, I wouldn't go anywhere else.
