How's Life at WGPD

I am considering applying with WGPD. I would like to find out a few things before I submit my application though.

1. How's the overall morale?

2. What kind of pension plan do you have, what is the multiplier?

3. Are the supervisors pretty good about letting you do your job, or micromanaged?

4. Does the agency offer higher starting salaries for experience?

Most Sgt's definately micromanage which in return encourages incompetence. We def need experience

Pay is good.

Morale seems to be dropping due to the lack of positive reinforcement to counter discipline.

and I don't know the multiplier off the top of my head but I believe we contribute 2% with a 25 and out at 75%

Well hold on there mister guest....I wouldn't say that the department sucks....completely. The money is ok. There is overtime to be made if they allow you to keep it. Usually you have to comp it out. The real problem is being not able to trust people you work with. Its everyone for themselves at the WGPD. And yes....I agree about the podunk part. Good Luck!

Considering I have looked at other agencies before coming to WG and I know what they make, please tell me what it is I've missed that makes other O.C. depts better. Since I work for a "Podunk" I'm sure that my "Podunk" mind missed something. We may not be number one on the list for pay but im sure we are in the top 2 or 3. And it is true that there are VERY few that you can trust.

Infact we work well with those surrounding us. Please explain your post further or are you just unable to follow a conversation and stay on topic. YOU are the one who was acting like you had some sort of sick inferiority complex regarding other agencies because you are paranoid and think everyone is calling you a "podunk" or something. NO ONE IS DISRESPECTING YOU! Everyone respects you guys and your agency.

Again Mr. Bonemasher, I never indicated once that I hate anyone. I must say though that you are becoming quite annoying with the constant use of the shift button on you key board and excessive punctuation. You obviously have some problem since you find it necessary to scream your replys. I really hope that you are not an officer since you believe that hitting someone or something makes problems go away and that is extremely childish. I am the last person that would ever run and rat anyone out. If I was gonna do that I would've done it before I resigned. Trust me there is plenty to say about that department. Of course what they do about it depends who you are and where you came from.
