Traffic Unit - Albert

Good Day Fellow SunTanners!

Just wanted to post a little something on your County Forum that has been bothering me. My wife, kids and I took a stroll down to the woderful Florida Keys about a month ago and I was unfortunately stopped by a traffic officer. I honestly did not see the 35/45 MPH sign either becase I was in conversation with the fam or not looking that way when entering the keys directly off the stretch - My fault. I have not been in the keys since construction has started on the 18 mile stretch. Mr Albert was having a really bad day and decided to down talk me as if I were a child or teenager that had just commited a felony (in front of my family). After I let him build himself up to what he was trying to prove to the family and I, I made him aware that #1 was an officer, #2 that I had my family present, #3 that I was not aware of the crime I had committed within his territory. He told me that "I should know better, if in fact I was a police officer". I went further and explained to him that the vehicle is under my wife's name. Continuing with a bad attitude and very demeaning approach he finally realeased me to continue on my way south.
The point... Being an officer for over 20 years in the City, I have met my share of incidents where a firm and direct approach is needed. When and if you pull over a luxury SUV with 2 children in the back and a wife in the front, please compose yourself as a police officer, not for the speeder but his family. I had to explain to my children that not all officers are mean or want to arrest or "shoot people" like they asked! I do not want my children or any one elses children to grow up having a fear of officers. I would want them to have trust within the profession and especially the men/women in the uniform. I especially dont want my kids to think I treat or treated people that way. Treat people in YOUR community with a little more respect and courtesy.
Please take this posting not as bad-mouthing your department or the the officers but as the way outsiders see in.

Mr. Miami DT what is it with you guys always getting the raw deal from other LEO's? Now not only do you call out a certian deputy during a traffic stop, but there have been other instances where you fellow City of Miami officers have had problems with Troopers as well! I think that you Miami Officers need to just pay attention and stop driving so fast, this is not the City, stop flashing tin like it is some type get out of jam card, and be respectfull in the way you drive in other Citys and Countys. As for your comment of when you approch an expensive car with childeren in it and how you would deal with the violator inside, do you really think that is how you Miami Cops deal the public in your City? Please give me break! You should have told Albert right then and there what you thought of the situation and left it at that, rather than wait a month when you have nothing to do and right this ridiculous unessesary article which is a wast of computer air time and try to dirty Alberts name. So next time when your fellow brothers and yourself speed down here on Friday afternoons and then speed away on Sunday nights now you know the speed limit. Oh by the way I thought all hi end cars come with cruise control....later dude.

Yeah, I need to second that. We stop alot of cops and get very few complaints.

:devil: KA, he has a bit of a problem, he acts like he is a big bad A$$, don't understand what his problem is... He is badge heavy, he has been in police work for 10 years now, or so he Tell's us. To all the LEO'S that have had a run in with him I sincerely apologize. Be safe.

First of all its pretend not pertend....maybe you were a little exited when you were responding to my message. The point I was trying to make was if you have a critique of anyone else or if you were really sincere about your apology, you would have placed your name up there with that message...hence the term "Internet tough guy." Do not get your panties in a bind sir, I have never had a problem with anyone I work or at home. I think if you have a problem with someone else in your private or work life the message would have been better conveyed in person or by just simply leaving your name so that person can resovle the issue or even become better person. So the only thing that is funny is that the point has obviously blown over your head and you completey missed it, and when you are cornered on an issue you revert back to basic school yard mud flinging. Please keep the forum proffesional and don't forget to spell check. :roll:

I do read what I post in these forums, the fact of the matter is that you are still missing the point and you do not proof read you messages. Your response to the character of Albert in this forum is not needed, he is our work mate. Obviously you do have a problem with Albert at work, if not you would not have written about him in such bad taste. Lets not miss the point of this forum, we had a City of Miami Lt. attack Albert without reason and I just put him in is place. That Lt. even left his name after his message, this it not even my battle it is someone elses. But back to your offense of my writing style, I think you should start a new topic since you know so much about me and who I am. I am not here to pick a fight, I am here to defend a fellow friend who does not even know who has been standing up for him and any other LEO here in the Keys. We continued to get attacked when other LEO brothers come down for the weekend, tears up our County, and has the gall to critique the way business is handled here. I am not by any means a moron, and you continue to spew out school yard nonsense. If you really know who I am....then you must know I live in the Keys....I will break it down for you some more...to give you some food for thought...I live in Key Largo and am available to discuss this matter in person. I will repeat, to discuss the matter, I think it might be refreshing to you and I might just be able to let how well I speak b/c you already know how I write. It is not about how smart you think I am, I think you should direct your frustration at the Lt. who started this forum....remember we can pull each others punk card but we should not allow some outider to pull ours. :lol:
