Apparently there is a rumor going around that the County Manager (whose opinion of Deputies leaves a lot to be desired) is an "Honorary Deputy." Can somebody please tell me that this is not true.

Heard the same thing myself last week. Don't know if it's true or not.

Should be able to obtain the list of these by public record request like WFTV9 did in Orange County.

Make all deputy sheriffs honorary county managers. They just as qualified as Dineen is to be an honorary deputy sheriff!
