Any Ideas

When looking for latents while processing evidence or on CS and finding nothing. I always try to place my own or a co-workers latents on the items to show it was possible but there were none or none readable. I always pull at least a couple useless ones. At least I can show the victim we/I tried.

I have the victim put there fingerprints on something, instead of my own. That way they know I'm not playing some trick on them.

Whether they want to believe it or not, I just tell them the honest truth. Not everyone leaves a print, not every surface is conducive for prints, prints are fragile (especially when the victim keeps touching everything to show you what the bad guy touched).
