I want to say a heartfelt thank you to Chief Velong. He wasn't the most popular of people with some of the guys, but I think what several people are failing to realize is that he had an entire city/administraiton to answer to. He showed time and again that ultimately he was a cops cop. He took TT into several new and exciting directions. While I may not have always agreed with him, he was still a good leader in my eyes. I wish him well, and a genuine heartfelt 'all the best'. He spent a lot of time serving the public, and now he deserves some R&R.

Chief Velong,...Thank you.

He would smile to your face and lie, and screw you if you ever disagreed with him.

Same thing we'll get now

For us that are from the outside, who is your new Chief?

He is just acting Chief right now *************** Bad news for us. We need someone we can trust and isn't a "I'll get even with you" guy if you ever disagree with him.

He doesn't like the union is his problem. He is used to "my word is law" type of administration. It doesn't work here. He can get along or he can move along it is his choice.

Well Boys, I have been here awhile and I think you need to give him a chance. It won't work if you do not allow it to. If this is the direction we are going, you need to work with it. If you label him off the bat and not give things a chance, it will certainly not work. 1 year from now and you are still not happy, carry on with the rants. I just think things should be allowed to even out before you blast him.

He could show his willingness for change by repealing the new Gas Mileage Charges :!:

What chief likes a union?

He makes his own bed. Either work with the rank and file or live with strife and discontent. He makes it happen either way.

Those that forget the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them
