F'd up FTO program

When will we expect some changes in this program??The program is flawed with incompetant FTO's.

As an FTO you should be extremely proactive. The majority of FTO's sit on there butt and do as little as possible. The trainees that are hitting the road have no drive in them and are clueless about police work. As an FTO you should be handling more calls than you would normally. As an FTO you should be making contacts with people on the street. You should expose your trainee to stressful situations.

The times have definetly changed since we had awesome fto's.
The majority of our FTO's now great people with great charachter but as far as their work ethics it is the bare minimum to get through the shift.

lol that will be funny if Amory gets FTO......she is a perfect example of what not to do......like handle a 24 dont do the oir and go home.....the next day the maj's and capt's called her in 5 hours before her shift to come into work and complete it. When I'm on a detail I don't hear her do a damn thing except maybe pick up a 94 when there is nobody else available. Rumor has it she had 110% committed time in July. WOW!!!!! she is even working while she is off. What a great officer. Why make someone an FTO if they themselves should be on FTO?

WOW is this true, Amory is going to be an FTO? That proves that her sergeant and captain never went on a call with her, because if they did they would know she lacks any people, officer safety, investigative, etc etc etc etc skills! I agree with the previous what knowledge does she offer to new officers that need to see how its done by an officer with those skills. The onle thing WE can hope for is that she gets failed out of FTO school......pay attention kimmy you are our last hope! :D

I am sure all these people who are putting down everyone else wil tell you how they are great officer's, how their stats are lights out and their squad is awesome...maybe that is true for a select few but the rest of you suck as bad as the people you are putting down..people in who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones...

"Ill do my part" what part is that? Is this the part where we dont back up a fellow "officer" in blue? How about how we drive in the opposite direction when an emergency call comes out? How about how we dont answer the radio hoping someone payin attention to the radio will pick up that paper call so you can hang out and gossip all day, and night long? How about how we code out calls because we dont know how to look it up or classify it? etc. etc. etc. Lets step up and if your not ready to do the job then tell "them" you are not ready and bite the bullet, at least they cant say your not honest. you have one that has only been a cop for 2 years, and is asking questions on how to do certain kinds of pc's from other officers. shes not to bad on the road, but has a lot to learn.

you have one fto that is lazy because he works too many 15's. sleeps on all his details, doesnt do any real proactive work, steals credit for other peoples investigation, and has horrible officer safety skills.

you have one fto that has been away on maternity leave for most of her career. she has much to learn as well.

two of them i agree with, and i think that covers all the fto's they picked.

i really wonder about who makes the decision making in this department. and this goes for a lot of different positions/ promotions. but who am i to say anything, least i be outcasted by the command staff. so ill just stfu!

one guy they needed to make an fto because as an fto you can go all over the city handling calls. at least now when a hot call comes out, and he leaves his zone partner to handle "the world" (other side of the city), he will be able to justify it as training for the rookie.
