When will the council give the department enough money to put a patrol rifle in every car. The officers are truly "out gunned" and need every advantage possible. They can get a bulk deal and get excellent rifles for under 1000 a piece. I think this is money well spent, and it should be on the budget for this upcoming year. The city will spend several thousand dollars on a b.s. national police search, when we all know the city manager knows who he wants. They could take this money and put rifles in half of the fleet. The fire power of the criminals is getting worse, and the officers need to be equipped with the best equipment possible.

Why dont we worry about getting an adequate fleet where every officer can have a dependable vehicle, and not have to search for a vehicle, adn then come back twice during their shift because the car is about to die; than we can worry about rifles.
