Yep! In Ohio.. the Highway Patrol works EVERYTHING that occurs on the "Highway". ie: accidents, shootings, road rage, murders, etc etc etc....
The old saying was... IF it occurs on the blacktop.. it's theirs!
Sheriff's Office wouldn't work ANYTHING on the highway.

We were based on the Ohio Highway Patrol. Their people helped setup FHP. Its a shame what we became...

I think this post is a little over exaggerated. I went to a school with a retired Ohio trooper and according to him it was pretty much highway patrol stuff just like down here. They only have arrest powers on state property. Dont get me wrong, they are a very sharp agency and we could once again learn alot from them.
