SUWANNEE COUNTY, FL - Members of the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office, Suwannee County Fire Rescue and the City of Live Oak Police Department are morning the loss of one of their own.

Suwannee County 911 Dispatcher Nikki Ford was returning home after the end of her shift when her vehicle left the road and struck a large oak tree. Nikki was killed instantly on impact. The tragic single vehicle accident occurred around 6:15 a.m. on July 11, 2008 on County Road 49.

Nikki will be greatly missed and remembered as the cheerful and always helpful dedicated dispatcher for our 911 service. The cause of the accident is currently under Florida Highway Patrol investigation.
