Please don't go into a frenzy over this. We do not want this. Then our bosses will expect more, more rules, more discipline. Don't ask for what you don't want

hey genius we're STATE certified officers; we're technically allowed to 19 whomever wherever whenever in the state of florida. and we do; how many times have you seen other depts 19 vehicles in the city, and how many times have we pulled someone over on our way to work? this doesn't change anything for us, except a headache if we 19 someone not in the city when we're on duty. why were you on nw 37 and 20 st??? honestly if i'm going home i don't care about the ass running a red unless the driver is going to kill someone. don't get crazy guys, you're going to get yourself into trouble. especially if you don't 19 anyone at work but you do when you're off duty...

Police To Get More Power To Pull Drivers Over
New Program To Start August 1st
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBS4) ― Lead foots and drivers who may have had 'one too many' are being put on notice that starting in August, there will be a lot more officers behind the wheel which will be able to pull them over.

Broward Sheriff Al Lamberti says police departments in four cities have already signed up to take part in a new policing-without-boundaries plan; and more departments are expected to sign on before it goes into effect on August 1st.

Under the plan, city officers would be able to make traffic stops in any other city in Broward participating in program; even when they are off duty.

In addition to the 14 cities served by the Broward Sheriff's Office, the cities of Sunrise, Coral Springs, Margate and Coconut Creek have signed up to take part in program.

The proposal, which would apply to all traffic infractions, would affect only cities in Broward County.
