I thought I saw a headline that showed someone was arrested for vandalizing the Hammocks station. This true?

How is that? The cops are never patrolling our streets so they must be at the station,no?
Get out and patrol the neighborhoods,{residential} not just the main streets, boys.

We would, if we had the officers in uniform patrol to answer calls for service, and devote time to actually engage in neighborhood patrol. Why not, you ask? Simple, since the Carlos Alvarez's administration and continuing with Robert Parker's, Alvarez hand picked replacement, the number of police officers assigned to uniform patrol has diminished significantly. Today, most police officers are assigned to commands like "chief" Frank Vecin's operations, Community Affairs, Training Bureau and Investigative Services. This explains why so many communities have seceded from Miami-Dade County, formed their own cities and as soon as they could formed their own police agencies.

Sadly, with no opponent of substance to challenge him, inept emperor Alvarez will continue prance about naked for four more years, while his legion of toads compliment his "magnificent attire!"

PS: Yes, we know, county manager George Burgess picked Parker. But, the pliable Mr. Burgess can read and the writing on the wall was loud and clear!
