A | A | A The son of New Bern's police chief is in jail--after he and a friend were arrested last night on multiple drug charges.
Christopher Palombo, son of Chief Frank Palombo faces 24 charges after his arrest last night at Copperfield Apartments in New Bern.
Craven County deputies say the charges against the 22 year old Palombo include possession with intent to deliver marijuana, sell and deliver cocaine, and carrying a concealed weapon.
Also charged was Riccardo Montevecchi of the same address. He faces 12 drug charges, including possession with intent to sell cocaine.
Deputies say the arrest was part of a three week long investigation into both men that culminated with a search of their apartment.
Bond for both men was set at $150,000 each.
