I believe in the silent majority, the long shot and the underdog. There are so many great men and women working in patrol for the City of Ft Myers police department. I think that we are some of the most highly experienced police officers in the nation. Our men and women in uniform don’t just respond to calls and arrest people, they make a concerted effort to keep Ft Myers safe and do it with pride and professionalism. Now that being said, we DESERVE to be treated with RESPECT from our administration.
We are all adults and carry guns and silver shields, too many times the powers that run things forget that we are part of the city too. We may not live there but we spend more time in the city than with our families. The small percentage of criminals in the city are taking control of our department and the administration is all but letting them. We entertain all sorts of nonsense, from bogus complaints to appeasing radical community activists in the city. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!
The criminals do not run this city or police department. If they spent one day in our shoes dealing with our daily work, they would lock themselves in their houses and not come out. The political correctness of today’s society has to end, a crime is a crime and a criminal is treated like a criminal. We can no longer let hurt activist feelings dictate how police work is done. We need an administration that is going to cut through the smoke and mirrors and tell people the TRUTH! If you do crime and hurt others you will go to jail, if you fight the police and run, you will get hurt and go to jail. We are not Switzerland; we cannot tie the hands of the police and prosecute them more than the criminals. Police work is difficult and demanding, we have all made personal sacrifices to be in the position we are in. We are held to a higher standing than any other profession (including doctors!), so let us do our jobs and defend the police against the minority radicals that hope to control the department.
