View Full Version : Need some information about FDLE

Could any of you give me some info on working for FDLE. What do you do each day? Take home car?, Any overtime available? Do you have a Homeland Security squad or anything close. What about The hiring process? I understand about working for the state as I have been with the state for about 10 years, however I was looking for something different. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Good Luck... my application has been with them since last Oct, certified LEO long time down south.. I here they are on a hiring freeze and need to cut the budget even more... just wondering with all the casinos opening, what they will do... disban units... like the rumor in June! Crime is out of control down south !

Each squad and day is different. There are 7 different regions which seem to operate in a unique manner. OT is available, more in Miami than elsewhere due to task forces and federal reimbursements. Every Agent gets a take home car. Each region has at least 1 member on a terrorism/JTTF assignment.

I see that FDLE has posted an opening in protective operations for security agent. Does anybody have any insight to this position. If one took this position would it be possible for them to make special agent down the road?
How about the physical agility requirements? Same as for special agent?
