Temple Terrace has its own Police Department!!!! Are you ****ing kidding me. HELL, Brandon doesn't even have its own PD.

What does TTPD patrol? Six blocks at the most. What a waste of taxpayer dollars!

Get rid of the Florida College PD, already!!!!

This isn't Pinellas County. We do not need to flood this county with useless, unjustified municipalities.

Hey Moron, get with the program, your post is almost a year out of date, you must be one of the following:

1. Somebody who was incarcerated by TTPD and has just been released.
2. Sombody who was 'let go' by TTPD and has an ax to grind.
3. Somebody who didn't make it through employment screening.
4. Rip Van Winkle!

:snicker:

TTPD isn't going anywhere anytime soon. There's still some talk of it more behind the scenes, and although many are certainly opposed to the idea for many reasons, disolving Temple Terrace's PD is a sensible idea.
But the reality of it is that most residents are familiar with the impressive response times, and respectable manner in which the dept. treats the majority of it's residents, and community involvement, the people of this city will certainly not support TTPD being disbanded no matter how logical the proposal is nor how much money the city will save.
Most residents are quite satisfied with their PD and are willing to pay more than they have to in order to keep them in place.

Mulberry pd and bartow pd said the same thing. Cities very much the same size as TTPD. Now it appears both are being disbanded and the Sheriff's office will be taking over saving citizens thousands in taxes. Sorry guys it's the sign of the times, maybe you should think about eliminating some of those specialty teams and get back to the basics of patrolling. Just a thought on saving tax payers money and showing them you can do more with less.

Mulberry and Bartow are hillbilly heavens, illiterate indigents. TT has an affluent populace in areas that would raise hell if their own force were not there to attend to their most minor of needs. SO won't come out on 60% of what TTPD does, thats the difference. Won't happen. But I do agree that having an ERT crew is like a street prostitue having a wedding dress, totally unnecessary. By the way this thread is like a year old, move on.

What does it matter when a thread was started if someone has something relevant and timely to contribute?
Starting a new thread everytime this issue is brought up in this city would be quite foolish.
Problem is that the PD has some issues prioritizing expenses and now, even despite recent determinations, may be costing the city more than they can bear.
ERTs and Cadillac radios may be nice and useful, but those sort of expenditures are bringing some reasonable scrutiny.
It would be nice if this issue would go away once and for all, but TTPD is going to have to deal with this subject rearing it's head now and then.

Yeah, it's been flaring up real bad lately. Could one of y'all grab me some Valtrex next time you make a run to the evidence room to restock the pill stash in your patrol car?

Just ask your wife for some, she has a presription. ( and a spot on the local health department watch list)
