Over the years FHP has been invloved in stuff like this. Just watch the re-runs Real Stories of the Highway Patrol. What about the Violent Street Crimes Task force in Miami during the 90's????

Bad guys drive to commit crimes, they transport the guns and drugs...Traffic stops is the way to prevent them!!!

surprised he wasn't 66'd

I'm still trying to get over that he was being stopped for going 13 over. I know this is a bad example b/c this guy was a dirtbag but I get aggravated when you work aircraft and get called to stop such low speeds. Working by yourself you catch them at 90 plus all day long.

Anyone with something to hide and has half a brain will not run 90 plus down the interstate. Years ago the airplane used to call out those low speeds but most of those 9 overs were probably going a little faster than that. Had to get those low end stats.

Any agency that lets a person running 150mph on the interstate go is NOT a real police agency! In a lot of states they would put up a helicopter to catch them. Here in good ole' Florida the trooper says, "They are extremely signal 12 and I broke it off" and the dispatcher says, "10-4, 65 a signal 4."

My Crown Vic tops out at 132mph, so it would matter if they let me pursue it would do any good if the violator was traveling 150.

That is why we need FASTER cars. Saying your car is too slow to catch a violator is like saying the bad guy shooting up the bank has a gun bigger than yours, so we better just leave and let him get away. Our job is to catch these people, not let them get away because their offense it too severe. That makes obsolutely no sense.

You don't need any faster cars look how many Camaros go smashed up. You need to use spike strips. Even if your car could go 150 if the violator is going 150 your arent making much ground on getting caught up.

FHP had nothing to do with the investigation or identifying the suspect. The local agency did the investigation and issued the warrant...

The warrant was for violation of probation. Probation Officers work for the state. Until the vehicle was stopped by the trooper they didn't know who had car jacked the car. Some of yall locals try and take credit for everything and give the patrol credit for nothing.
