I am looking to come over to MDPD. I have a 4 yr degree, If I worked at a local City Agency, State Cert. w/ 2300 hrs of training, do I still need to attend MDPD Academy? Any useful info would be appreciated.

YES!

yeah you would have to attend the academy for the last 2 months i think. I'm in the same boat. I took my poly in mid March, and I haven't even been inputed into their computer system yet. The polygraph examiner told me I passed with flying colors so no worries there.

if you have two years service in dade co then you only have to take a two week lateral training. If you are from out of county or less than two years as a po then you have to do academy mdpd style.
