public safety and their "lack of responsibility"

At a county council meeting on 3/13/08, County Manager Jim Dineen proposed a number of cost cutting measures to the county council. In discussions about county contributions to state retirement, the county manager made the following commentary on those in public safety and their “lack of responsibility”.

County Manager Jim Dineen is an idiot. He also said county law enforcement officers don't need a salary increase because they get state retirement and can work overtime if they want.

It is a shame that somebody like Dinneen cannot be voted out of office. He is not a friend to law enforcement....just a politician (like Tanner WAS).
