It is with great sadness that this agency has lost a great police officer. He will be missed by all. He passed on the evening of March 20th.

The viewing will be at Ewing Funeral Home, Tuesday the 25th from 4pm-7pm.

The funeral will be at Epiphany Cathedral, Wednesday the 26th at 1pm with a graveside service to follow at Venice Memorial Gardens on Center Rd.

I haven t seen Mike since I retired and moved to Tennessee.

I first met Mike when he was a young hot dog detective for VPD. He couldn't wait to get on the trail of some bad guys and sink his teeth into the case. He was a dedicated and enthusiastic investigator and police officer. Even after all these years, he still felt a driving passion for his job.

Venice has lost a loyal employee and friend. I knew he was gravely ill, and said a prayer for him and his family. I was shocked and saddened to read of his passing. 47 years old is way too young for anyone to die.

Go in peace Mike and know that our thoughts and prayers are with you, your family, and your department.
