I hate to say this but it's true. We don't have full time Evidence Techs to do the job of crime scene processing that PCSO does have. What we have are a few officers who have a fair amount of training who have to copy calls as part of their regular duties and also assist with crime scene processing as are all parol officers in this department.. This is clearly not up to par with having a full time ET crew. The average patrol officer is already overwelmed with their job. Not having full time Evidence Technichian staff is unacceptable for professional law enforcement. If we are going to ever be the type of law enforcement agency that we should be then we need to step up t the plate. We have to call the SO for matters that we should be able to handle regarding crime scene processing. Are we a police agency or not. The time has past to be.... Lets do it right or not do it all all.
