I wanted to pass aong some advice from someone who has been where you people ar at now.

If you get the union, you'll be a happier lot, after all the tricks subside.

As soon as it is in watch for the union busting attempts. The admin will give certain people things just to divide the troops.

They will bring up a decertification vote and the people leading it will be promised promotion. They will sell you out and your families for a stripe.

If you survive the decert the first contract will not give you any real benefits You will see distinct advances by the 3rd contract

Be patient and once the city realizes it is here to stay they will bargain with you. looking back on 10 years of the union I am leaps and bounds ahead of where we would have been. I can actually retire and not have to work again. This is important as we as a workforce die earlier anyway.

Keep together and stay on target and you will be a much happier department.

Screeeaaachhhhh (as you hear a sound of a wreck), did someone just say there was no EAB minutes, Ohhhhh the humanity!!!!!! I can't believe there are no EAB minutes, who is responsible for such a terrible violation of our rights here at PCPD!!. Now this part is going to get a little harsh so everyone with virgin eyes look away ;-). This is directed to the person that has such a problem with EAB minutes:

Here are a few suggestions that you can do to help your plight:

- Throw a "Rock the EAB minutes party" (this should have cake, and it will shurly draw a larger crowd than the failed "Rock the vote" campaign/party.
- Get off you lazy A@@ and ask one of the EAB members what happened. I understand in this age of everything coming to you on a silver platter this might be foreign to some. See way back when before computers or even cell phones, communication was done through either scripture, spoken word or even smoke signals, and since there is nothing posted on PICS and I'm sure as hell not going to light a fire in the parking lot with couple of my buddies with blankets then the only thing left is the spoken word.

Now if this is a large hiccup in your proffesional career then let me suggest this:

- Suggest to the chief that you will take over posting the EAb minutes, see I can tell your probably good around the computer (except for the whole CAPS thing, I hate being yelled at, I'm fragile you know)
- Read the FSS book provided to you by PCPD or online. see this will take longer to read and will allow you to do other things than your job which I guess is why your sooo concerned about EAB minutes right?, did I win?, your just so dedicated you need those EAB minutes to survive and feel part of the team, put me in the game chief I can do it, just give me the EAB minutes I need, X48.

Now if this is a personal thing, then try and follow this:

- Get a hobby, you know like archery or stichery, maybe even airplane model making (tried it, hated it, went with porn, worked out well, I'm sticking with that one).
- Get outside more on your days off, maybe try going to a park (don't go to a kids park, we parents can spot the single male perverts, it's just weird), a large park, and feed some swans or birds get your mind off of trivial things like EAB minutes.

I sure do hope this helps in your time of need. If you have anyquestions you can call me at 7@@-@@@@ well maybe not.

Oh let me get back to grown up stuff like cost of living issues, gas, health insurance, where I'm going to be in the future, you know things that matter.

Oh and the EAB rep responsible for the minutes did them and turned them in to take that ehhhhwwwww!!!

Not personal just like to see things done the way we were told they would be done. Is that to much to ask?

if you have looked the EAB minutes have been there for some time. the EAB retreat was in March hence the RETREAT MINUTES. So look before you leap and yu wont seem so stupid.
Then forget the union it is not coming here and is not welcome here. Why don't we be original and work to better the department and help by giving logical ideas or don't just say change this or that say what the change should be and why. Have your explanation make some sense to if that is even possible; I for one am sick and tired of the BS around here and think everyone should focus on doing jobs and making things better

The meeting was late in the day on wednesday. 188 has been off all week, and Lena, God bless that woman, is only here at the PD for half a day. I'm sure they will be up next week. If not, just ask someone on the EAB.
