from a brother from city of miami! We are keeping the baseball arena and AAA arena as are off-duties are deptment will not allow another pac incident to happen again. Also i hear that an ordinance might be passed that only county cops can work "County Road of duties". If thats the case if we get 17 in are area but it falls on a county road will shall not handle them we will dispatch the county. If a 29 is dispatched on a county road its yours. We've had the orange bowl for 70 years and now we are getting the long awaited for baseball arena and that will be ours too.

love,
from a real cop

The Miami Police FOP will be having a demonstration this Thursday at 900 hrs at Miami City Hall.
Even though the proposed Miami Marlins Stadium will be in our jurisdiction , the PBA is attempting to secure all special events for Miami Dade Police Officers.
It is imperative that we show our support for our fellow brothers and sisters in blue. We look forward in seeing all of you there.

UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL!

You Miami "blue-ticks" aren't getting jack $hit; learn to accept it! Our Strong Mayor Carlos Alvarez has facilitated Mr. Loria $600 MILLIONS to construct the Marlins' Stadium; do you think Strong Mayor Carlos Alvarez will allow you "blue-ticks" to control the police and fire off-duty within a county owned sports facility; ARE YOU NUTS? NO -- on national television, MDPD's distinct Brown Uniforms will be seen within the ball park, and you "blue-ticks" can work the traffic details; if you don't, we'll get others that will!

02-26-2008, 05:27 PM

Did you fail your urine test? If you didn't, here is a little reminder. It was "you guys are not cops" who investigated, arrested and prosecuted YOUR Miami River Cops. It was "you guys are not cops" who, along with the FBI investigated, arrested and prosecuted YOUR "bring the sock" and "gun planting" cops! MDPD LEOs are more than cops, they are Deputy Sheriff, with jurisdiction across the length and breadth of Miami-Dade County, and all municipalities within the County! Please do not retort with your trite MPD saved your headquarters in 1980, or the vehicle fires at the Hammocks District, is old! If we are going to cite history, then learn this: On December 4, 1975, Rolando Otero walked into the old Miami PD headquarters, planted and detonated a large pipe bomb on the second floor, and got away. Fortunately, non of our fellow Miami PO were injured. Within days, FBI and Dade County PSD Organized Crime Bureau Detectives had identified Rolando Otero as the culprit. Federal Arrest warrants were sought, but by then Otero had fled to Pinochet's Chile. Nevertheless, FBI and OCB Task Force members were able to reach out and touch Otero. He was brought back and prosecuted. Granted Sheriff Kelly's uniform may not be the most attractive, but the men and women within them are the best trained and most effective Law Enforcement professionals in the State of Florida, even the nation, and that is an irrefutable fact!

Wow...so hateful....

02-28-2008, 03:45 PM
B-4-L, so you don't want to hear old news about how we saved your dept in the 80's and all that old crap...because you are the top dogs in the nation specially in training of your officers...well lets reminisce in just this millennium shall we?

1) A Miami-Dade police officer has been relieved of duty and is under investigation for allegedly obtaining unauthorized access to Social Security numbers and other personal data on as many as 4,689 people maintained by ChoicePoint Inc.

2) A Miami-Dade County police officer is accused of raping a woman he pulled over and lured to a warehouse. Patrol Officer (name withheld) faces charges that include three counts of armed sexual battery by a law enforcement officer. Investigators say they've matched XXXXX's DNA to the case. He's being held without bond.

3)Four Miami-Dade police officers are under arrest on charges an attorney for one of them says are outrageous. They are accused of planting the drugs they used to make an arrest of their own. This comes just one week after a veteran officer was charged in a major drug ring, charged with official misconduct, perjury and false imprisonment.

4) A Miami-Dade Police Department officer was arrested for driving under the influence in a cruiser blood alcohol level was between .226 and .239, about three times the legal level.

5) a Miami-Dade Police Officer, with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 841. The charges against the officer stem from an undercover investigation involving the trafficking of six kilograms of cocaine by Benjamin while in his MDPD uniform. If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum of life imprisonment and a maximum fine of $4,000,000.00.

6) Two MDPD officers suspended after beating Angel Soto right under the news chopper.

7) A Miami-Dade Police officer faces a charge of first-degree grand theft.
Authorities say the officer stopped a vehicle carrying $100,000 in cash. Police say the officer took the money and let the motorist go. He ripped off a undercover officer...also for providing confidential information from a motor vehicle database.

The list just goes on and on...thing is no one is perfect, so don't write crap that you yourself don't even believe.

Dear BL:

Doubtless our respective agencies have their share of miscreants; still Miami has historically taken the prize when it comes to corruption and malfeasance. For each MDPD instance you reference, there is a mirror as sordid and repulsive at your house. So don't come on this site and pretend to be above reproach you sanctimonious B itch. Your department, from the police chief on down, is a disgrace! If the media were to do a poll, which agency do you thinks has a better public image? Our difference lies in that at MDPD we clean our house, while at yours, malefactors get promoted to higher ranks. Fact of the matter is, your police agency is doom to failure, is just a matter of time!

Now is a matter of principle, and we are going to fight for these jobs with all the political power we PBA members and MDPD officers and families can muster! You want to call down thunder, well you've got it!

And of course, you put your trust on Miami Commissioner Joe Sanchez. . . right? Fool, the city of Miami deeded the stadium's footprint to the County, otherwise the County would tax the [blank] out of the stadium. Do you think the Lorias and Miami-Dade will allow that? If so, you and those of your ilk are dumber than you appear to be!

I HAVE A SOLUTION THAT SHOULD APPEASE BOTH SIDES....

LET SWEETWATER AND OPA-LOCKA TAKE CARE OF THE MARLINS STADIUM!!! :snicker:

Brilliant solution. . . NOT! The fact is Miami-Dade County is footing the bill; to the tune of over 500 million! The PBA and each and every Miami-Dade Police Officer and Fire firefighter must battle for the right to work the off-duty jobs AT OUR HOUSE. The City of Miami deeded the stadium foot print to the county, the land is now the county's (it always was) the county is putting up the money to build it, so Miami police and fire have no claim to it. Yes they worked events at the Orange Bowl for the past 70 years, fine. The operative terms here are: worked and past. It is a new era, and now the County owns the land, the house and the right to hire its public safety providers, end of story!

first get your facts strait we are building the parking garage, putting money into it, and also the land that it sits on is well worth your 300m the county is putting so stfu

02-29-2008, 03:09 AM
Miami-Dade County is just the adminstrator of the County Bond Money City voters approved for the Orange Bowl and now transferred to the Marlins Stadium. The Bed Tax money comes 90% from City of Miami Beach, Miami and other municipalities. We police those areas, not you.
How much Bed Tax money comes from unincorporated MIAMI-Dade County? Not much. We generate the money. Go tend your jail.

As if MDPD will need a 3-15 from you! Aside from the staff working the grounds and stands, MDPD will have two Mobile Field Forces from their North and South Operations Divisions, 120 police officers ready to go on a moments notice, or on site just in case!

Don't be a dolt! You know damn well that is a colloquial frequently used in 'our' vernacular! As to "we came running to you for training," When, Where and Why? MDPD has its own Region XIV Certified Training and Police Academy. Besides, what are we going to learn from you blue balls, how to turn into BKs?

I truly don't understand what this is all about.
MDPD was NEVER able to staff Joe Robbie Stadium and had to call upon other departments to cover these posts.
This is going to be just another cluster f-k
Let the City have it and the headaches with it.

You guys need to stop this crap.
I have been around for a while and can tell you that nothing good comes out of this posturing.
In 1980 there was no Blue, Brown or Beige, we were all cops against tremendous odds. The same during Hurricane Andrew, we all came together as one and helped each other out.
This issue will be resolved, but not this way.
