Photo thief leaves key evidence
PORT CHARLOTTE — Call it an unexpected development.
A woman walked out of a Port Charlotte CVS store last Saturday without paying for 250 photos, worth $83.
She was apparently not aware that the computer memory for the store's photo machine still contained the images she had developed -- including pictures of her.
The store manager contacted deputies and printed two 8-inch-by-10-inch photos of the woman, who has a distinctive tattoo with a Roman numeral II in a circle on her left arm.
A security video from the store at 2480 Tamiami Trail showed the woman putting the photos in her purse and walking past two cash register clerks.
The woman's last name may be Kelley.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 639-2101, or Crime Stoppers at (800) 780-TIPS.
