This is the PBSO pay plan for 2008 right from their web site. By 2009 it will be even higher with the COLA raises that they are getting. Deputies are pay grade 25, Sergeants are pay grade 39. Read it and weep. Unless we merge we will never see anything even close to this!

District is pitiful. No wonder we continue to lose officers. I would get a $13,000 raise + car + something the District doesn't offer: RESPECT

You won't get that as when they came last time and were going to do a take over they offered to plug you in at the next step above where you were. For me I was going to make $155.00 more per year and pick up 46 more days. Also remember they pay $32.00 for all OT for the public for me again that is $21.56 less an hour then what I make now at 1.5 times for OT. But you will get 12 days of vacation. Any person that works here and goes to PBSO will lose $$$$$ the first few years unless they work twice the OT they do here. But if Green is your color it's worth it.

You make 21.56 less than what the SO is offering for OT? Thats crazy, thats not tooo shabbby. Please keep in mind though, that the new guy in charge over there is way better than Beluich. I wouldnt comment on anything unless a contract is drawn up/or an offer is made. Also you are one of the fortunate ones to have a vehicle ( I am not that big on the car...BUT) add that factor into the equation. I for one drive to and from work and respond to schools in my area on my own gas.........you do not. Also if you compare the 12 hour shifts, PBSO works less then then the School Cops. It all goes back to how they write the contract! I think its worth the time and effort to see what they can offer.....as of right now we have NOTHING! THE DISTRICT IS NOT GIVING US ANYTHING! BOCA PD just got a 5 % and look at the incident that happened at the town center mall, It cant hurt to look at all our options.

I WAS SAYING THAT SO GET $32.00 FOR DETAILS WHERE WE GET 1.5 TIMES AS OT AS MOST OF OUR WORK IS FOR THE DISTRICT. I MAKE $53.34 AN HOUR FOR OT. SO IT WOULD COST ME. SO I WOULD NEED TO WORK MORE OT TO MAKE THAT UP. TIME WILL TELL BUT AGAIN I HEARD THIS TALK FOR 18 PLUE YEARS AND WE ARE STILL HERE.

P.S. I HOPE YOU ARE DOING TRAVEL FORMS FOR YOUR VEHICLE 48.9 CENTS A MILE, I THINK IS THE GOING RATE.

The only way we will ever merge with PBSO is if the Board just gets sick and tired of dealing with us. So I say lets make them sick and tired. Its time.
