take home cars

I heard the pd is talking about getting rid of our take home cars. Does anyone know if this is true or just some dumb rumor?

They are gone. And not just you Trinity / Riverview folks...All gone. In city, in county, special positions, on-call, SWAT, Captains, Lt's. Gone. Don't know when, but I would expect sometime after completion of the three story parking garage that will be needed to house all of the cruisers and POV's that will be jammed up around 78 and 59.

All of the Trinityites will probably have no choice but to seek employment with Bob White as they will not be able to afford driving to work with our awesome pay packages the city has been doling out the last 6 yrs. For years that has been their only saving grace for all of the lump of $hit contracts we signed off on...."we have take home cars!....we have take home cars!" Whatever will we say we have now? Lets see.....We have take home pistols....that's it....YEAH!!!!!!

Clearwater had their program modified last week and I am sure our city and many others are going to look at this to see if it a place they can cut due to amendment one.

It is too soon to tell so just stand by and keep watching.

Some crappy days are coming for us at this agency. Nothing to do with Admin or supervisors. It's just sad to see that it is likely our take home cars are going to be taken away. This sucks because our pay is the lowest. I guess times aren't so bad, I just bought 1.75 liter of captain.

After the performance of the rocket scientist behind the wheel of car 13018 39 on 2/19/08 at the intersection of 49th and 144 ave N you should lose your cars. This genius went around a disabled vehicle in the intersection coming out of C.J. cut across two lanes of traffic and did no less than 85 mph over the bayside bridge. It was a poor display of any type of professionalism and I am sure the occupant is know to your I/A. People are watching, act like it!
