How many agents in here like their job at ABT & why? Second, which office do you think is better to work at Miami, Margate or West Palm Beach?

02-07-2008, 03:14 PM
Not many - most are leaving. As for which office is the best> None that you mentioned - the morale is terrible - FDLE is hiring...

02-07-2008, 05:11 PM
The Miami Office is the best in the state, period. No other office has more narcotics, prostitution, b-girls, gambling, and other than "minors" cases in the state.

Still, ABT is in shambles, falling apart from within. And the "managers" up in Tallabama don't care.

Ha! [size=18] Didn't get me. I knew this was a trick question.

02-07-2008, 06:45 PM
I love my job as an Agent. If you worry about what you are suppose to be doing as an Agent you would love it too!

We've been told there's a freeze on jobs right now....

Well with over 300 applicants applying for 1 opening at a agency with 100 Agents that pretty good math too. Thats why I love my job too!

It means do your job, the one you were hired for and quit worrying about everybody else's job in other words if you mind your own business you would love your job.

Who wouldn't like a job where you can drink coffee, read the paper, have supervision you can outwit, outplay and outlast and be responsible for nothing. Oh, did I mention we even get a check for this every 2 weeks. :D

This guy has hit the nail on the head. Do what you want when you want and get paid at the same time. Not only that, the off-duty is nice too.

Don't work for this job, make it work for you...

The DBPR does not care about ABT or its agents. It has slashed an burned ABT into the ground. ABT is a shell of an agency. With 150 agents to cover a state with over 100 million visitors a year. Broward county by itself has 25 million visitors each year. That is only one county. ABT Broward? Less than 10 agents. 3 supervisors. People talk about agents trashing ABT on this web site. DBPR is the guilty suspect trashing ABT.

04-12-2008, 01:35 AM

ABT has 150 Agents on staff for the entire State of Florida! To put it in perspective: The High School I went to had 150 on staff!!

The crew that is in charge of DBPR in Tallahassee needs to be ashamed-very ashamed. By some terrible decision making and awful luck, ABT ended up under the DBPR.

That DBPR has been an irresponsible steward of ABT. DBPR has failed to back ABT and its mission to safeguard citizens and visitors. DBPR has done nothing to further the agency and plenty to shake its foundations apart. Anybody who wants to know where the agency stands and what the morale is? The answer is: 150 Agents on staff!

04-12-2008, 01:37 AM
Cheer up. It's actually closer to 156 Agents! And we just got Beverly back!

04-12-2008, 01:51 AM
156 Agents statewide but 20-30 are applying elsewhere, and 5-10 will resign/flee from here by the end of the summer. The Captains and Lieutenants are running for elected office to get out?

You're right about the DBPR what a disaster and trying to destroy any trace of the ABT and its tradition. Look at the meddling today-used to be run by a Chief, the Director was a liaison to industry and also had legislative duties. Never dipped into policy making. Never told people what kind of pants to wear. Deputy Secretary? Secretary? Never, ever directly intervened with ABT...

Everyone thinks they can run ABT. Everyone thinks their background justifies telling agents what they can and cannot do. Secretary, Dep Sec, Director, all think they have the unique insight to meddle directly into policy and contol the direction of ABT. Here's a quaint old idea DBPR Executives: Go do your DBPR job and stop the micromanagement of ABT. Isn't there a cosmetologist out there who isn't decontaminating her combs between haircuts? Go bother her. Write her policies. Tell her not to wear jeans. Tell her about how you used to cut hair with the agency twenty years ago. Destroy her already cramped and dingy workplace and cut her staff. Eliminate her step raises and take away any FLSA hours she may get. Work your DBPR magic on somebody else.

Don't you think "The Man" would spread his knowledge and wisdom to others if he could? The problem is the legislature cares about the happiness of the blue jean wearing 20 year old, cutting their hair!!! Her well being is important. Yours? Not so much.

04-12-2008, 04:53 AM
Back to the original question...I for one am happy with my job. Would I like things to be better? Of course, but that doesn't seem to be in our future right now. Times change and things get better, then they get worse..it's the cycle of ABT. It's been this way since I began with ABT over 15 years ago. In my office we do a lot of different type of investigations and try to help each other out as needed. We *****, we moan and groan, but for the most part we all like it here.

06-30-2008, 09:38 PM
NEWS FLASH

Ain't gonna get any better. If anything, it will get progressively worst. When ABT became part of the "SUPER AGENCY," i.e Dept of Business Regulation and later the Dept. of Business and Professional Regulation its fate was sealed. At about the same time FDLE came into existance and has progressed to its present day status of being the premier law enf. agency of the state. Who has the crime lab? Who has the governor's protection responsibility? Who has the expert witnesses? Who has police standards? ABT is sucking hind tit and has become too political for it to be effective in regards to its enforcement activities. To keep you occupied in terms of production they've prioritized underaged drinking so as to not allow you time to work other violations. Look at the leadership and if that doesn't demoralize you then you're too young with this agency to remember the "good ole days." Some will hang on to a belief which in reality is merely a hope that things will get better. That's not a character flaw but disappointment looms at every change of administration. I'll post again in five years and we'll see if I'm right or full of bull$hit.

06-30-2008, 10:56 PM
I'm still waiting for Drago/Hill/Geier to turn this place into a real law enforcement agency. Oh, I forgot...Drago is too busy sucking up to Greer and the industry, Hill is clueless, and Geier is always looking for his next job. But then, who can blame him. Run Forest, run!!

07-01-2008, 03:28 AM
It's better than running calls in a patrol district day after day at 90 plus outside in a vest & poly.

07-02-2008, 01:14 AM
I love this job; I make it work for me. I give them 8 hours work for 8 hours pay. I do what they ask and they stay off my back. This is not rocket science we are dealing with. You can get involved with long term cases if you want, or close them out with an official notice. We are not going to save the world, but we might just save a life.

I get a state cart o drive and spend state money for up keep and gas. I knew what they were paying when I took the job. So all in all this is a great job, I love it.

Listen up
The term "agent" is so generic it even applies to the guy that handles my car insurance. That's right - he is a State Farm Agent. You know why we use that term? Because it fits on the badge panel!!! Agent, Investigator, Detective - it matters not. Don't you have some inspections and surveys to do? Get to work.

Where does this wannabe accusation come from. I am no wannabe anything other than I wannabe rich. Obviously not happening right now though. But to the point, I have been a patrol officer, a narco and a detective and did that for some years before coming to ABT. Since I have been here, I have had the opportuniy to work a multitude of cases to include prostitution, narcotics, tax fraud, smuggling, trafficking and yes the all important minors in possession. I have put my fair share of asses in jail over the years before ABT and since. To say I or my fellow ABT Special Agents are wannabees is not true at all. Our badges say special agent the same as FDLE, DEA, ATF, ICE, etc. because we are specialized officers. Why FDLE's badges say that is beyond me. They should say State Police or something. They are not area specific but handle a broad spectrum of issues and do a good job. I know this having worked along side FDLE as well as DEA, ATF, and ICE. I am in the process of obtaining felony sale/delivery charges on a joint op dope case now. All I wannabe now is off for a while after a hard days work. Grow up guys and act like you are adult enough to wear the badge despite the logo on it. Afterall, someone bureaucrat could legislate we are all going from Special Agents to Specialized Officer or some other non-sense. The badge or logo on it does not make the officer, it is the honor and integrity of the individual who upholds what the badge stands for.

Be safe and hang in there. Maybe Uncle Charlie will sell that tanning bed in his office and use the proceeds to give us another bonus.

if you listen to folks at ABT... they have single handedly shut down the drug trade in Florida. Yet i for the life of me, can't really remember any "good" drug busts by ABT. Buying a $20 snorter of coke from a yahoo in a club and getting an arrest warrant for him doesnt mean you are doing meaningful drug cases, or that you are a dope cop. But time and time again, you hear all the ABTer's on here justifying their agency by siting all the big "felony" and "dope" cases they are doing or have done. Accept what you are, kiddie cops, i made five felonies last night off one stop...thats more than Margate and West Palm Beach have done combined in six months!
Know thyself, ABT.

To be honest........................I get more satisfaction from a night of lap dances than I do making drug cases so what's your point Serpico? Also, my lap dances are on the state's dime and you can't say that can you dufus? Come join me one night and I'll treat you to at least one lap dance if you'll promise to keep your hands in your pockets. It would be a shame if I had to arrest you for groping a single mom just trying to make a living. :snicker:

Your post is interesting to me in that it reveals your self observed orbit of exaggerate importance when in fact, you're a dufus. Why don't you give it another try and let's see what you can come up with. I await your response with baited breath. :snicker:

if you listen to folks at ABT... they have single handedly shut down the drug trade in Florida.

My obsession with paying attention to detail requires the following correction: the word exaggerate in the above post should be in the past tense ie exaggerated.

Wow, inspite of the fact that you opened a dictionary and used some "big" words, your reply did not dispute what i posted in the least. If my post struck a nerve, which it obviously did, sorry you got your feelings hurt. But, you still have to list any relevant and substantial drug cases conducted by ABT.... i have a feeling you are going to be looking for a long time. And no, piggy backing and admin case or "EO" off another agency's criminal case does not count.

The Capt of those two offices, admittedly out of her own mouth, has focused her offices efforts on administrative cases. She has not the investigative know how nor the leadership capability to oversee or guide any such investigations into drugs, human trafficking, etc. ABT is what it is, and that aint much.

No need for a dictionary when verbal jousting with some dufus like you. Your self observed orbit of exaggerated importance doesn't impress me. I didn't find that in a dictionary either you moron. What I will provide you with in regards to ABT conducted drug investigations is one of the most impressive that I have knowledge of. I will not give names but will tell you that some years past ABT had two of the best drug investigators in the state of Florida. One was tall and skinny, had long hair and looked like Jesus. The other was short and a little on the fat side. A certain S.O. in south Fla requested assistance in investigating several biker bars and all of their UC people were burned out and known. I was able to get the two agents to come to the district and in the meeting with the S.O. people they wanted to have their CI walk our agents into one of the targeted businesses which I might add was for members only with motel like door cards. "Jesus" leaned back in his chair and replied "we don't really cotton to CI's and will try ourselves to gain entrance into the bars." You could have heard a pin drop after that comment was made but the investigation went forward. Their first night out, not only did they obtain entry to all three establishments, they purchased cocaine from patrons and employees. What was to be a one week investigation turned out to last three weeks culminating in search warrants for all three locations, emergency orders of suspension for all three locations and about 15 felony arrest warrants. Both of these agents are now retired but that is what is was like back then. You new slugs and crybabies don't know your ass from shineola and spend most of your time on this site trying to impress one another. You may be right about how things are now but that's your own fault so do me a favor and blow it out your ass.

Whenever I read a post about the good old days, I am reminded of a Bruce Springsteen tune also from the last century.

"Glory Days" was the tune.

The Glory Days of ABT are gone, never to return. When you have to go back 25 years to find a meaningful investigation, it is truly over.

haha. Despite the fact that you are enamored with your own level of false intelligence, and want to call me second grade names like dufus and moron. You have NOT named any significant case. Let me fill you in on a little fact, when crack and cocaine went big in the 80's and 90's, walking into a place and buying snorters and "hard" is not impressive. Video buy ops back in the day (outside of ABT) could easily get thirty arrests. I dont work at your worthless agency, and the only thing thats blowing out anyone's ass is this bullshit you are spewing. Have fun in your dream world where ABT was THE drug agency cause you got 15 felony arrest warrants! haha.. tool

What I don't understand with your post is with having to handle all those dog barking complaints, neighbor playing rap music too loud and working an intersection in the rain, how did you find time to post such a lengthy bullshit post? Having worked such a busy schedule, did you find time to go to Home Depot? I did and got 35% of my Christmas shopping done. Also, tonight I'm working a lewd & lascivious case and will probably drop about $250.00 on expenses (drinks, tip and lap dances) and I doubt that at this time of the week, you can't even go to Sunny's Bar B Q and yes, there really is a BLOW IT OUT YOUR ASS mantra so quit wasting time and get to it. :snicker:

"Enamored" is a pretty big word for someone (moron & dufus) like you to be throwing around. Especially in using it in a oxymoron prerequisite to my level of "false intelligence." Did they hold you back in the 3rd grade so that you could catch up with those equal in academic accomplishment as I would have been when you were still a moron? C'mon man, ain't nobody impressed with all the bullshit about what a super sleuth FSU narcotics investigator you are. My bet is that you've never even made an illegal lease case (management, operation and control of a licensed premises) which would require someone with at least half a brain which I'll concede you might well have. When I go back and read what you've posted, that's my impression.............you're a half assed graduate of FSU. You might even be related to oswannie? If you're working tonight, how bout dropping by where I'm working and see if the bimbo giving me a lap dance wants to buy some reefer from you. In the meantime, I'll be looking in the dictionary for some more big words to throw at you next time you post something stupid. :D

Most In Service Training (and schools) that I've attended with ABT, the materials were provided, however, I've heard that in Hummer School you have to bring your own knee pads. Does anyone know if that's true or not because I've been thinking of applying. Been here 9-years and no promotion yet so what not go to hummer school? :D

The issue isn't hummers it is the ratio of promotions to agents. Once you factor in the number of LT positions already locked down, then add the number of people that come in as LT or Capt or Major or Chief, you don't really have many slots to promote to. Add the fact that it is almost impossible to move a family with kids for 10% and you begin to see why someone with 9 years here is still an agent. Good luck to you if that is what you really want.

Your post reflects detailed thought about the promotion process to which I agree is mostly correct, however, I still think that if you've been to hummer school your chances are somewhat elevated so I'm going to go ahead and submit my application.

I agree with both of your posts but will offer my personal advice based upon personal experience; hummer school does help you because what they want is someone who will dance to their tunes w/o question and basically is a suck up. Also, if you arrive at hummer school with your own knee pads you're a shoe in. Good luck.

I can understand why you feel the way you do. I also think your willingness to "color all supervisors" with the same crayon shows your lack of real world experience.
Let me preach on it -
If you work for an agency, you should really work for the agency. If you can't support the agency you should find one you can support.

Please spare me your condescending sermon. No doubt you've been to hummer school and graduated cuma de laude. It's difficult to formulate a meaningful response to your replies because you're really incoherent and out there in a fantasy world of your own making. You are able to complete a sentence, however, so I'll give you that. I'm sure that one of your case reports would be more about you than the corpus delicti which in truth should only take a short sentence compared to the paragraphs upon paragraphs put forth about what a super sleuth from FSU you are. If you're so confident in your self assessment of your vernacular pedigree then put forth one of your case reports for we incoherent neanderthals to examine and learn from. Or, to borrow from another poster.....................you can blow it out your ass.

Your momma just called and wants me to cease and desist posting negative things about you. She tells me that you are a very special person, so much so that you're the only Special Agent with ABT that has the title Very Special Agent. I didn't want to be rude but I did express doubt about you having that title but she was adamant and said that the words "Very Special Agent" appear on your badge and credentials and said that she would send me a picture of proof. If this is true then guess I'll have to eat crow.

The straight answer is EVERYONE. EVERYONE likes their job at ABT or they would not be here.

You're not very good at data interpretation are you? I never painted ALL supervisors with the hummer school brush. I only said that going to hummer enhances your chances at being promoted. Being a suck up yourself, you should know this and also know you fellow hummer school graduates. The only difference between yourself and them is that you graduated cuma de laude. I'l bet you even have your hummer school certificate hanging on your office wall. Next time you see Patty Positive, please explain the concept of hummer school to her.

You didn't offer any "data" to interpret. You only made a broad generalization. I suspect much like your case reports, lots of filler. No details. Name the graduates of the school of instruct or move on.

I was asked in a previous thread if I attended Hummer School and wanted to be sure I understood what hummer school was before I replied. So here is my answer: No, I did not and never will attend a such school. I think that its a shame that a woman can not make anything out of herself without being accused of such disgusting acts. You should all be ashamed of yourself for thinking that, let alone saying it out on a public site for the world to see. If I was your mother, I would wash your mouth out with soap.....twice! Ugh, gross...just gross!!! Hard work, determination and a strong will gets you to the places you want to go in the workforce!!

Now, I hope you all have a safe a wonderful holiday season! Go home and hug your family, thank the lord you have a job to go to and enjoy the people in your life......God Bless.

Positive Patty :)[/quote:1lrp2ykx]
Wow! Was that ever positive! Problem is...........it was also naive. So as to prepare you for reality Positive Patty, here's a news flash for you. The "workplace" that you refer to is filled with dishonesty and resentment towards anyone content on doing a good job which in some cases may bring about appreciation and praise. Nothing about "hummer school" has anything to do with gender and references only those people who present an obvious "suck up" mentality towards the higher ups that they think will notice and reward them. Hummer school is a fictitious creation that paints such a person as having attended the suck up academia of promotional desire based upon a yes man persona rather than individual accomplishment. I might have missed it but I did go back and tried to find where you were asked if you had been to hummer school. I could not find such a post so if I'm correct I would suggest that you try to be more exact in making such a claim because the profession we're in demands facts in lieu of assumptions. Have a nice Christmas and perhaps 2014 will bring better conditions and attitudes. :D

Negative Nelson

I am so happy to hear all of us will get a chance to tell an outsider how great ABT is. The facilitator is the same hired gun sent to Orlando after the now infamous captain debacle. He heard all the negative stuff. Nothing changed. Now that everyone gets to speak I am sure the result will be everything is great and everyone is wonderful. That is what I will say. I learned long ago at ABT that my opinion is important and I am worthy. See you at the meeting!

News flash !

Federal Government to adopt state of Florida model.

"New legislation sweeping through Congress:

The Americans With No Abilities Act (ANAA)

President Barack Obama and the Democratic Senate are considering sweeping legislation that will provide
New benefits for many more Americans.
The Americans With No Abilities Act is being hailed as a major legislative goal by advocates of the millions of Americans
Who Lack any Real Skills or Ambition.

"Roughly 50 percent of Americans do not possess the competence
and drive necessary to carve out a meaningful role for themselves in society," said California Sen. Barbara Boxer.
"We can no longer stand by and allow People of Inability (POI) to be ridiculed and passed over.
With this legislation, employers will no longer be able to grant special favors to a small group of workers,
simply because they have some idea of what they are doing."

In a Capitol Hill press conference, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid
pointed to the success of the U.S. Postal Service, which has a long-standing policy of providing opportunity without regard to performance.
At the state government level, the Department of Motor Vehicles also has an excellent record of hiring Persons with No Ability (63 percent).

Under the Americans With No Abilities Act, more than 25 million mid-level positions will be created,
with important-sounding titles but little real responsibility, thus providing an illusory sense of purpose and performance.
Mandatory non-performance-based raises and promotions will be given to guarantee upward mobility for even the most unremarkable employees.
The legislation provides substantial tax breaks to corporations that promote a significant number of Persons of Inability (POI)
into middle-management positions, and give a tax credit to small and medium-sized businesses that agree to
hire one clueless worker for every two talented hires.

Finally, the Americans With No Abilities Act contains tough new measures to make it more difficult to discriminate against the non-abled,
banning, for example, discriminatory interview questions such as, "Do you have any skills or experience that relate to this job?"
"As a non-abled person, I can't be expected to keep up with people who have something going for them," said Mary Lou Gertz,

who lost her position as a lug-nut twister at the GM plant in Flint, Mich., due to her inability to remember righty tighty, lefty loosey.
"This new law should be real good for people like me. I'll finally have job security."
With the passage of this bill, Gertz and millions of other untalented citizens will finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.
Said Sen. **** Durbin, II: "As a senator with no abilities,
I believe the same privileges that elected officials enjoy ought to be extended to every American with no abilities.
It is our duty as lawmakers to provide each and every American citizen, regardless of his or her inadequacy,
with some sort of space to take up in this great nation and a good salary for doing so."

I guess this makes hummer school obsolete? :snicker:

Florida has been doing this for years! Proof positive that Florida leads the way with innovation.

Now we know how Skeletor gets his "job creation" numbers. Just another theft of a republican program by the democrats.

01-27-2014, 02:05 AM
A tip of the hat to Skeletor. After all his political patronage system has given us 65K a year agents and 75K a year LT's and don't forget a 101K a year captain. Yeah they are worth it!

01-29-2014, 06:15 PM
Captains in most agencies make over 100K.

Can't argue that point but this is ABT, not a law enforcement agency with tenured employees that clawed their way to the top. This is an agency where you can start at the top with no knowledge skills or abilities. This is an agency that doesn't value experience. This is an agency on it's way to the bottom.

FYI - 20 year detectives at a local PD have a base pay of 75K.
20 year agents? Less than 50K.

I still love my job though. There are very few part time jobs with benefits nowadays.

The best part of working for ABT part time is that I get to shop full time at home depot, and load up on bon bons.....This job is incredible, btw, I love what I do with the I&E....

I didn't know that Home Depot sold bon bons? If true, then you'd better be carefull cause oswannie could swoop in on her broom and catch you.

01-31-2014, 01:41 PM
The new home depot on our fine waterways does not sell bon bons, but just accross the water(only available by boat) is a small factory producing bon bons. Hell, I just hook up the ABT 17 foot plywood boat, 75 johnson with electric choke to my state issued vette, launch and load up the coolers with fresh bon bons

cool...............................but, oswannie could read this post and start staking out your bon bons treasure trove. With that broom of hers she could be on you in a flash. :snicker:

It is finally official we now have a new angry little man in the panhandle who hates everyone. Comparing himself and forgot that everything he said is what they said about the roofer when he was spoofed in by Powell for a favor of loaning Powell 25k over Xmas and then low and behold he has a sweet captains job 2 months later. Witnessed the meltdown of this holier than crap piece  of excrement who feels as the highest paid agent with no experience talking about another highest paid captain. Aint that like the pot calling the kettle black little man. So take your ungrateful self and disgruntled pos home.

02-01-2014, 10:53 AM
You have to admit his passionate and critical commentary was entertaining. Terms like bully, thug, incompetent, lost faith, no leadership, no direction, etc will make it back to TCO. I was also pleased that most people didn't have a problem with individuals but were critical of processes. The Lt said it best when he said it is how we do things that causes problems and the same problems have been here for years. You can't blame an individual for an
institutional problem. YES. I THINK IT WAS STUPID FOR A 60K agent to be critical of the very processes that gave him that job and allowed him to keep it.

02-01-2014, 01:37 PM
You know what they say, little man, little feet..........................

02-02-2014, 02:37 AM
Whether you like him or not, take the 60k out of it... nothing he said was false and probably 95% of the people in that room agreed. In listening to the facilitator it was apparent that most of the state at the other meetings agreed as well. The girl said it best, if nothing is done there will be a mutiny. Period. The fact of the matter is that #1 needs to be gone to right this ship. He along with the former Chief has basically destroyed ABT. #2 needs to go even though he is a nice guy... but the position is USELESS and his background is not what ABT needs right now. While on the subject, Mrs. Southern Police Management Institute needs to be gone as well. Never a real cop, never even a decent agent from what MANY co-workers have said. Look up useless in the dictionary and there is a photo of #3.

By the way... about 2 years ago a "bully" at this agency said we would be non-sworn or GONE within 4 months. I'M STILL HERE!!!!!! My advice to others who like working here as much as I do. Never give up... never let them push you around. I am still a firm believer that some good people left and went non-sworn because they simply gave-up.

You know what they say, little man, little feet..........................
Yup, little mind, little courage, and little class...............

02-02-2014, 02:46 PM
The little guy is a shear hipocite who now believes that he is one of us. He was brought in this place by the former director who was arrested. The little man had no qualifications except for being a roofer and campaige donor. He was in over his head (easy to do)once he got here and knew nothing about ABT or being a police supervisor. He was a complete waste that ruled by intimation. He would threaten to have his buddy the director get you. The fact is the creatant has no standing. He is the highest paid agent in the state and in his little mind actually believes that he deserves it. As anyone one that has been here for a while knows this place has been going down into the cesspool slowly for years. This whole reclass crap has sealed our fate and speed up the process. Prior to the secretary and former deputy secretary bringing in the blond bommer they plan had been already been finalized. The bottom line is we will never get the sworn positons back that we lost. This whole farce of factitated meetings is designed to show how many fools and complainers we have working here and to further show that we are not worth the effort. This years legislative session should be a hoot. The sad part of this is that we we have had years of nepotism that brought friends of friends like the pensacola little man into this place and it has ran this place in the ground. In the long run it will come to dollars and cents with all our positions being non sworn.

02-02-2014, 02:51 PM
You know what they say, little man, little feet..........................

Say what you want about him... but he's a cop's cop and that's good enough for me. One of the best I have worked with at ABT. I guarantee those who bash him because JP hired him or because he was smart enough to retain his Captain's pay, are backstabbing turds in their own right.

If that's true... so be it.... other places I can go for my last few years. They aren't pushing me off! I'm riding this ship til it sinks!

Hold on little man how are you able to reach the key board. Ask JJ on how he was treated or other folks around the state with all the promises he made. Out of all the unqualified cronies that were brought in here over the years he had to be the least qualified. A ROOFER SERIOUSLY! Even the other clowns (RO and NM) that JP brought in at least had some credentials. I would guess you never witnessed him in action with his coffee cup and trash talking. He truly believes he is some Casanova.

Seriously??? Now you bring into this the biggest, lazy, POS, that ABT ever hired??? The guy wasn't even qualified to flip burgers a McD's !!! He's lucky he had protection or they could have charged him with a felony for the paycheck he was stealing all those years!!! NM ???? Really??? Creds??? Maybe... but not exactly a ball of fire himself... the term "useless" is really coming in handy here!

02-02-2014, 04:04 PM
At least JJ was a standup guy not like the little man with a big chip on his shoulders. As far a me I will also ride this wave until it crashes. The fortunate thing is when that comes I will be prepared to either downgrade or actually have a resume to get somewhere else. the folks that they have hired here in the last two years wont have that luxury. I have one question though. Will the roofing guy be the highest paid inspector when that happens?

02-02-2014, 05:17 PM
Mt LT likes to say he is riding this bomb all the way to the target. I have to agree with him.

It's not a lie if you believe it. It becomes a matter of perception. Here is the bottom line. This is a good organization with good people. Sometimes all that is needed is a reality check or in this case, an intervention. I would rather get the current bunch back in line with our statutorily mandated mission than start over with a new batch of crazies. Remember marked cars and uniforms ? Alcopops? Schedules? the list of insanity is endless.

Seems the little man was right on the money. The expensive Capt who now makes more than the director messed up again. Seems he and the other two stooges, aka lt's, advised an inspector to seize low proofage beverages found on a 2COP. All legal per statute, and a veteran Lt or Capt with half a brain would have known this little piece of info. Wonder who will take the fall for this? Or should I say, I wonder if the Chief will work his magic again to protect his buddy. Let's see how this shakes out. If I were the licensee, I'd have an attorney post haste and name the command staff who authorized the seizure in the law suit.

This was just one high profile screw-up but crap like that happens everyday here. There is no institutional knowledge no subject matter experts left anymore. The few that actually know something are so burned out from the gross acts of stupidity they have taken on zombie like personas.

As to the issue of low-proof products, it has been a law/rule on the books for 20 years.
Maybe if we concentrated on BEVERAGE LAW we might sharpen our skills.
