View Full Version : Sworn Positions being lost and the FOP is oblivious

In the past 2 months we have lost a Major position and a Captain position.

In the past 2 months we have lost a Police Major position and a Captain position.

An Outsider/Civilian is occupying a sworn spot. This means one less Major, Captain, Lieutenant, Sergeant and Officer.

A Captain position is being 07'd from Patrol. This means one less Captain, Lieutenant, Sergeant and Officer.

Meanwhile you have 2 Captains in Support Services. Now lets think about this. If you are going to eliminate a Captain, does it make sense to eliminate a Captain from Patrol instead of Support Services? Are these decisions even thought about?

Guys get off our FOP Prez. He has always been there when anyone has needed him. He always answers his phone and gives a quick response when questions come up. He will fight for the best of the Union . We all know some things could be changed but all in all the Beach is a great place to work with alot of great Cops. and when the s--t hits the fan we always take care of eachother unlike other Departments.

Answers his phone and gives quick responses? Sounds like baseline FOP President stuff don't you think?

Real Cop is right. If you need him he will be there and will answer the phone. MBPD is a great place to work and the money is not bad. Just take a look at other agencies and their enviroments. The real issue is we need to keep our eyes open at all times and not let our guard down while on the street. Forget the grudges and back each other up so we can make it home safe to our families....what counts. This past week is a prime example. It can happen to any of us. Pray.

But you are missing the point of the thread.

We can thank everyone who voted on the new property tax law. What can the FOP do when the city is forced to make budget cuts because of this. All the city departments are taking the same hit. I think its going to get worse before it gets any better. And it rolls down hill some people who thought they were going to get promoted may not now.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease! The average savings per household is 240 dollars. The City gave residents back 300 dollars the last 2 years. So figure it out.

Truer words have never been spoken.

Prez.. get a cop inside PSCU / CDC (which is more appropriate). Those calls should never hit the street.
How about getting the pertinent information on them before sending
someone into open fire? When BF, JP, and Caputo were in - no calls
came to the street like that... Prez, help us..

Well we just lost a Lieutenant and Sergeant position in order to make another Captain spot. And that Civilian Lawyer still is sitting in a Major spot. Thanks FOP.
