It is obvious that charlie is not interested in helping State Law Enforcement.
Quote from the Sun-Sentinel "Among the new initiatives promoted by the governor is a pilot project that would give uninsured Floridians in 14 counties access to affordable insurance. He has also called for $386 million to be spent on economic development incentives that he contends will help boost the state's economy."
Just an example, so he wants to spend 386 Million on economic development......What a Joke! I guess 376 Million would not be enough, so you could give your Law Enforcement a decent raise. He is also taking the feel good liberal "give it to everybody" [Socialism] approach to Health Care, which is going to cost a whole bunch of $$$$$$$. I have to pay for my health care, and now I have to pay for more of someone else’s, because charlie wants to expand welfare.

Its not like were asking for more than everyone else, The Florida Highway Patrol ranks last across the county in pay and even well behind pay with other agencies in the state. Asking for 10 Million dollars for a raise out of a 70 Billion dollar budget is pocket change in the big picture.

In the past we have had other Governor’s that could give a "Rats" about Law Enforcement, but charlie is leading the pack, as far as I am concerned. He is the worst kind of politician, a double talker. Charlie has published his budget which has nothing it for the Florida Highway Patrol. The only save we got is our Legislators, who actually write the budget. We need to be writing and calling them every day.
However, I know the reality..... no raise......no help.....and no one gives a $hit, but at least we can go down with a fight.

The legislators really helped last year by taking the 5% Charlie had in there for us. They are as bad or worse than him on this.

C'mon it's not like you guys are real law enforcement. Disband the troop.

I read the Gov's budget. I just love the fact that we (citizens of the great state) spend 40 million on film incentives. This is up 15 million from last year. Now I'm not THI, so my math is not great, but I have some questions. If 37 Million will give us a step plan which would put us in the top 6 paid agencies in the state (Senate Bill 920 - Love it!), what would an extra 15 million do for us? Why do we need to give film companies incentives to come here? Why were we spending 25 million on this and now wanting to bump it up 15 million? Is this more important than public safety? We can ask those drivers on I-4 about that! We need to check out whoever drew up the budget. I think his resume included Enron.

Any thoughts?

Its all a joke. This state doesnt care about troopers or any other state leo's in the slightest. Maybe all troopers should just ask for new beds or economical development incentives, seems to work with this administration.

The Governor had pay increases in his last budget. As everyone knows the budget request was shot down by both houses of the legislature.

To get on this website and bash the Governor's Office is not doing anyone any good at all and furthermore it is not the spirit of the majority of Troopers that do their jobs day in and day out.

However, if all the negative energy from all the anonymous posts on this site could be channeled toward our senators and representatives in this state we might see some help on the pay issues that affect all of us.

I strongly urge all of you to unite, call your legislators, stop by their offices and meet them face to face. Tell them what problems we face, get involved in the political process and watch what happens.

Watch what happens?????? I've been watching for the last 18 years and nothing has happened, you are fooling yourself. This is a bad, bad joke and its on every Trooper at FHP......the only problem is.....it stopped being funny many years ago.
