I've worked with SWPD on several occasions and I have no complaints whatsoever. These guys are good, and very dedicated. Working with them you really do feel the "Brotherhood" that we should all get along with. The best part is that they don't see jurisdictional boundaries, and they make it known. I've seen them work all over the place...they're like InterPol! 8)

I think the female SGT who pointed guns at everyone two weeks ago at the medley range is the case of open and closed if your agency is ready for a virginia tech. Go open a door

The Department had no business promoting this female as a Sergeant, she's a JOKE!!! Just Like the Department.

How you go from having her ride along with a senior officer because she's just not cutting it after "HOW MANY YEARS?" and then promote her sorry A%$.

Don't get me wrong she will make the perfect little 12yo sister. She's just not COP material.

Yea, and this certain sgt. will not back you up for crap. Any time you need this person as a 15, just wait till she arrives on scene, that way if anything, you can at least watch her crying going to an actual call she's scared of lol. An Officer could be getting his or her a$$ whopped and she'll be in her car with a lolipop maybe enjoying the show with a smile. Definite liability.

What do you guys think?

Another shooting at a University, at Louisiana college and FIU still not prepared. How sad that we dont have a plan or protocol to follow just our instincts. Depending on the officer.
Where are the Rifles? and SOPs?

02-09-2008, 07:44 AM
HELL NO! We are not ready for an active shooter...Well at least some of us are. What plan? I havent seen one...

02-12-2008, 05:28 PM
another gun arrest at fiu, next one is going to be AK's 47,let's start preparing ourselves, it is going to be worse, that's why i got my own rifle.
KUDOS TO THE OFFICERS INVOLVED ON THAT FELONY ARREST.

Can someone tell me where the Active Shooter SOP is? I cant find it anywhere. Do we even have one?

03-04-2008, 01:54 PM
Its suck that a substitute is going to so call train us on active shooter class, I don't think that would be a good Idea, we should do this at the dorms or, GC, or GL where it could happen, but of course no bad impression to students.
Are we going to invite other agencies?, or they just embarrassed to expose their lack of knowledge.
We should have UM give us an example first.

We need to send the north end units to pancake flipping 101 since they never do police work up there.

Aventura trains in active shooter all the time, if you contact the training supervisor and request it we should be able to assist you. Please ask your admin to contact ours for help. I can not speak for the Department, but I know they can help you. 305 466-8989 ext 0 ask for training.
