Frankly, I'm VERY happy it went through. All the studies show that it will be just the beginning of tax reform in an area where we really need it, property tax. Even the folks against it, The League of Fla. Cities, recently said in the Orlando Sentinel that they had exagerated during the campaign and said some things that were not true. Don't buy the hype and scare tactics. They were meant to fool you and keep you from actually looking into and studying the benefits. I was very dismayed to see police unions out against it, but then, the local chiefs and sheriffs were under intense pressure from mayors and commissioners who were afraid their pet projects and perks might get cut. I only hope the unions will see through that the next time we're asked to blindly follow.
