Twas the month after Christmas
And inside the station
The holidays were over
Most were back from vacation
Shift change was coming
Just 14 weeks late
But patrol was accustomed
To having to wait
Since it takes forever
For a decision to be made
We were just glad
To get one this decade
Some Lts were assigned
Because two captains were pissed
When they finally retire
They will not be missed
This power to harass
And make your life bad
Is the reason they live
And that is just sad
Their decisions are made
To cause much division
But we’re not surprised
It’s a family tradition
If they keep patrol fighting
It helps them hide
That they are not leaders
And that the cop in them died
The FTIs struggle
To train, and they’re tired
Of trainees who don’t listen
And should have never been hired
We hope one day Thompson’s
Hiring standards will stop
And he’ll listen to reason
And soon hire us cops
By Christmas next year
We want our old LPD back
Its manpower we need
And leadership we lack
We tell staff one what’s wrong
Our concerns we do share
But he shows every day
He just doesn't care
