An office romance has resulted in reprimands for two sheriff's office workers.


Pinellas County Sheriff Jim Coats disciplined a deputy and a radio operator for having an affair. According to Bay News 9's partner newspaper The St. Petersburg Times, the two workers are both married but started seeing each other earlier this year.

It is the first time Coats has enforced his new rule that bans adultery within the agency. Coats created the rule two years ago.

The deputy was suspended for three days while the radio operator received a written reprimand

This happens in every profession. I've heard of a lot of Troopers who commit adultery. Kudos to the Sheriff for creating that rule!
